    • PURPOSE: To manufacture spheroidal graphite cast ion ensuring high strength at a low cost by austenitizing the shaft member of a specified diameter having a specified composition under specified conditions and by quenching and holding the member under specified conditions.
      CONSTITUTION: A shaft member of 8W70mm diameter consisting of 3.0W4.4wt% C, 1.5W3.5wt% Si, 0.02W0.10wt% Mg and the balance essentially Fe is austenitized by holding at 800W950°C for ≥0.5hr. The member is then quenched to a prescribed temp. of 210W500°C and held at the temp. for ≥20min to form a bainite layer in the surface part of the shaft member of a depth corresponding to about 30W90% of the radius of the member. Thus, spheroidal graphite cast ion having mechanical characteristics comparable to those of spheroidal graphite cast ion having a bainite structure up to the core is obtd.

When the straight travel of the drive rod 61 is stopped and, further, the inertial force that acts on the inner gear 23 is larger than the frictional force that forms the frictional engagement, the engagement between the inner gear 23 and the planet gear 22 by the centrifugal clutch 30 is released.
