摘要： PURPOSE:To suppress the increase of energy consumption and the increase of an inside temperature with a seek operation with high accuracy by stopping the seek operation when time for the seek operation of a head exceeds a threshold value. CONSTITUTION:According to a seek command signal from a controller 2, a linear motor 1 is driven through a linear motor driver 3. On the other hand, this seek command signal is inputted to a time counter 4, and the time for the seek operation is accumulated and counted. The count value of the time counter 4 is outputted to the controller 2 and when the time for the seek operation exceeds the set threshold value, it is latched by a latch 5 so as to transmit a count over output to the controller 2. Then, according to this count over output, the output of the seek command signal is weld in standby for a prescribed time by a seek standby means of the controller 2. Thus, the increase of energy consumption is prevented and the increase of the inside temperature is suppressed.

In such a way, the number of times of the seek operation of the head is limited, and also, the seek is executed efficiently within an allowable range in the device, and an increase of power consumption and a temperature rise in the device caused by the seek operation can be suppressed.

Then, since a semiconductor laser 5 is driven by the control part 4 in order to achieve the commanded optimum light output, the light output of the laser 5 is held at an optimum value in the ambient temp. of the recording medium 1. By this method, even when the ambient temp. of the recording medium 1 is changed, information can always and properly be recorded and erased.

摘要： PURPOSE:To use a magneto-optical recording medium having a direct over-write function by changing outputting of a regenerative signal obtained from the magneto-optical recording medium as it is or outputting of this signal with its polarity reversed. CONSTITUTION:Outputs of photodiodes PD1 and PD2 for receiving light of two divided reflected light beams from the magneto-optical recording medium respectively are electric current signals in proportion to the intensity of the received reflected light, and are given to current-voltage converters 21 and 31 respectively. Then, voltage signals converted by the current-voltage converters 21 and 31 are given to arithmetic amplifiers 22 and 32, whereas one arithmetic amplifier 32 is provided with a changeover switch 15 for polarity, and this changeover is controlled by a changeover signal SS. This changeover signal SS makes a changeover for 1 or 0 depending upon whether or not one of some ID holes formed on a cartridge housed with the recording medium is detected by a detecting switch 16 and detecting an initial magnetization direction of this surface. By this method, the magneto-optical recording medium having the direct overwrite function and also capable of using both sides can be used.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain such a magneto-optical recording medium which causes little crosstalk or interference between pits and has high recording accuracy of information by depositing a thermal conductive layer so as to diffuse heat generated in a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical recording medium 1 consists of a substrate 4, magnetic recording layer 2 having perpendicular magnetic anisotropy in which direction of magnetization can be inversed, and an auxiliary magnetic layer 3 having perpendicular magnetic anisotropy with one direction magnetization, in which magnetization can not be inversed under the same conditions as for the magnetic recording layer 2. A thermoconductive layer 5 comprising thermally conductive material such as copper, aluminum, gold, etc., is further deposited on the auxiliary layer 3. Information is recorded in the recording layer 2 by irradiating the medium, and heat generated in the recording layer 2 heated for recording can be diffused by the thermally conductive layer 5 to prevent elevation of temp. around the irradiated position of the recording layer 2. Thus, accuracy of recording can be raised, and crosstalk or interference between pits can be prevented.

A signal SL related to strength PL is supplied to CPU 4 and the control part 2 raises an optical strength level as a curve line Q3. Thus, the diameter of a temperature area B becomes larger than A, and information of the temperature area A can be deleted.

摘要： PURPOSE:To detect a non signal without being affected by noise by providing a non-signal detection circuit detecting the presence or absence of a pulse signal being an output of a data detection circuit and using a signal of digital system via a differentiation circuit so as to detect the non-signal. CONSTITUTION:High frequency noise is eliminated from a signal S1 reproduced from an optical disk by a low pass filter 1 and the result is inputted to a 1st stage amplifier 2. The signal is amplified therein and inputted to an attenuator circuit 3, where the signal is attenuated and the result is inputted to an automatic gain control(AGC) amplifier circuit 4. A signal S2 amplified by the AGC amplifier circuit 4 is inputted to a differentiation circuit 5. The differentiated output S3 is inputted to a recording data detection circuit 7. Its output S4 is given to a non-signal detection circuit 22. The high frequency noise is eliminated in the low pass filter 1, and the low frequency noise is eliminated by the differentiation circuit 5 and non-signal is detected, then mis-detection hardly takes place.
