    • PURPOSE: To facilitate the recovery of spray coating material while enhancing productivity by catching non-deposited spray coating material by a feed sheet provided behind an article to be coated to recover the same and feeding the feed sheet to the original position to circulate the same. CONSTITUTION: A coating material is applied to an article 2 to be coated by a spray coating machine 1 and an endless feed sheet 5 is transferred to a position behind the article 2 to bee coated so as to advance from above to below and non-deposited coating material is caught by the feed sheet 5. Walls 3 are provided around the article 2 to be coated, that is, provided in the up-and-down as well as left-and-right directions to facilitate the catching of the non-deposited coating material by the feed sheet 5. Further, coating material is sucked to the feed sheet 5 by a ventilator 10 to be caught by the feed sheet 5. The coating material of the feed sheet 5 is recovered by a separation/recovery device 8. Next, the feed sheet is washed in a washing zone 9 to be returned to the original position and circulated and used. The feed sheet 5 is composed of an air permeable base material 6 and a belt 7.

    • PURPOSE:To carry out the coating of a cast-metal article in an improved working environment and to dispense with the deburring work after the cutting work of the cast-metal article by coating a cast-metal article for cutting with a powder coating composition composed of fine hollow particles and a resin component having a specific softening point and containing epoxy resin, etc., and curing the coating film with heat. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a cast-metal article for cutting is coated by applying a powder coating composition composed mainly of (A) a resin component having a softening point of 60-135 deg.C and consisting of an epoxy resin (e.g. bisphenol A epoxy resin) or a mixture of an epoxy resin and a polyester resin (e.g. carboxyl-containing polyester resin) and (B) fine hollow particles (e.g. silica balloon) to the cast-metal article for cutting by electrostatic coating method and curing the coating layer by baking at 150 deg.C (the temperature of the metal article) for 20min. The content of the fine hollow particle of the component B is 10-40vol.% based on the volume of the cured coating film. The coating process can dispense with the deburring work of the coated article after cutting work and enables the coating work in an improved working environment.
