    • PURPOSE:To obtain a container wall for liquid helium which has sufficient rigididity and minimize the permeation of helium by a method wherein an inside container for liquid helium and a coil bobbin are commonly composed of a solid fiber reinforced plastic body. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical bobbin 5 is made of fiber reinforced plastic. A superconductive wire 6 is wound around the cylindrical bobbin 5 in a solenoid shape to form a coil proper. Auxiliary coils for magnetic field correction are formed by winding superconductive wires 9 on annular bobbins 8 and provided to both sides of the coil proper. An outside container 1 for liquid helium is connected airtightly to both ends of the fiber reinforced plastic bobbin 5 so as to make the bobbin 5 serve as an inside container for liquid helium as well. With this constitution, the container wall for liquid helium which has sufficient rigidity while minimizing the permeation of helium can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a quenching phenomenon beforehand by a method wherein a sound detecting element is attached to a superconductive magnet and the case, in which the detecting signal does not exist for longer than a pre-determined period while an applied current is being increased, is detected. CONSTITUTION:A sound generating element 21 for generating dummy sound signal is attached to an electrode part or a main part of a superconductive magnet 1. The sound signal generating element 21 is driven by periodical pulses from a pulser 20 and transfers a sound signal to a sound detecting element 2 through the magnet 1. The sound signal, given from the generating circuit 21 by the detecting element 2 is detected by a circuit 10 and compared with a threshold value by a comparing circuit 22 and converted into a pulse signal. When generating interval of these pulse signals becomes longer than a pre-determined period while a current applied to the superconductive magnet 1 is being increased, an AND circuit 24 produces an output and a quenching phenomenon is detected. When the quenching phenomenon is generated, a current breaking circuit 5 disconnects a source 6 from the magnet 1.

    • PURPOSE:To bend the end part of the curved side while preventing the collapse of a coiled conductor layer, by inserting a wedge between a dipole coil and a surface plate, and bending the end part of the coil. CONSTITUTION:A thin plate 7 to be deformed together with an unit coil 1a is put on a surface plate 5, and the coil 1a is put on the plate 7. Next, a load P1 is applied on the coil 1a after putting a convex press die 6b on the coil 1a to keep the coil 1a in a loaded state. Next, wedges 8a, 8b are inserted between the plate 7 and the plate 5 from both ends of the coil 1a, and loads P2 are applied to push the wedges 8a, 8b inward. Therefore, the coil 1a is bent along the surface of the die 6b. Further, the loads are not locally concentrated into one part and never cause the collapse of the coil layer because both ends of the coil 1a are deformed along the plate 7 and the wedges 8a, 8b.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a spacer, which is not slacked even through cooling and has sufficient compressive strength, by setting up a glass cloth laminated board, the direction along the layer thereof is opposed to a pancake coil, and interposing a resin impregnated thin-sheet material between the board and the pancake coil. CONSTITUTION:A space 4C is formed by the glass cloth laminated boards 4b, which have predetermined size and the direction along the layers thereof is opposed to unit pancake coils, and the resin impregnated thin-sheet materials 11 interposed among the direction along the layers of the glass cloth laminated boards 4b and unit pancake coils. The spacer 4C is contacted merely with the pancake coils through the resin impregnated thin-sheet materials 11. Accordingly, the compressive strength of the spacer 4C is increased, and the spacer in which slackness is not generated even through cooling can be obtained.
