    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to conduct a highly precise work on finer strips at low cost by a method wherein elements, which will be formed into a sliding piece, are conveyed to a plurality of pressing devices successively, both end sections of the contact-point forming region of the element are cut off for every pressing device, and the strips having the prescribed width are formed successively. CONSTITUTION:Positioning small holes 21 are provided at equal intervals on both left and right side face sections of a base material 1, and the base material 1 is conveyed successively to each pressing device from a base material retaining part utilizing the small holes 21. Then, leaving the desired contact point 22, two rectangular holes 23 and 23 and a slot 24 are provided on both sides of the contact points 22. Besides, the first strip 25a on the outermost side part of the contact part 22 is cut off, and the second strip 25b on the inside of the 25a is cut off. Then, the strips on the unprocessed contact parts 22 are cut off in the same manner as above using a pressing device. As a result, a multicontact type sliding piece can be manufactured at low cost in a highly precise manner.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance a sliding noise characteristic by specifying a composition ratio of a resistance paste which uses an iron oxide, ruthenium oxide, lead oxide and zinc oxide as conductive components. CONSTITUTION:The conductive powder is composed of iron oxide, ruthenium oxide, lead oxide and zinc oxide; their composition ratio is set to Fe:Ru:Pb:Zn=10 to 25:25 to 34:25 to 34:10 to 25 in terms of individual mol % when the iron oxide is expressed in terms of Fe atoms, the ruthenium oxide is expressed in terms of Ru atoms, the lead oxide is expressed in terms of Pb atoms and the zinc oxide is expressed in terms of Zn atoms. The conductive powder is used together with a glass frit and an organic varnish. Regarding a ratio of the conductive powder to the glass frit, it is preferable that the conductive powder is 20 to 70wt.% and the glass frit is 80 to 30wt.%. In addition, it is preferable to add the organic varnish within a range of 25 to 35wt.% to a solid component. When the iron oxide as expresses in terms of the Fe atoms exceeds 25mol%, a resistance value becomes too large and a resistance- temperature coefficient deviates from a practical range.

    • PURPOSE: To enable adjustment all over the movement range, independently of a preset value, by making a contact or a corresponding contact and/or a resistance path array perform additively adjustment or adjusting movement transversely to the length direction of the resistance path array, by using an adjusting equipment. CONSTITUTION: A resistance path array 4 contains an uniform resistance layer, which stretches in some length not only in the length direction shown by an alternate long and one-dot chain line 13 but also in the direction intersecting the length direction. When a contact 9 is in the vicinity of a short conductor path 5, the resistance generated between outer connection terminals 6 and 8 is the minimum value. When the contact 9 moves in the transversal direction, from the conductor path 5 to the most distant position, the resistance value has an initial value corresponding to the distance between the conductor 5 and the contact 9. The initial value is increased by adjustment (adjusting movement) parallel with the length direction 13 of the contact 9. Different final values can be obtained by adjusting movement in the transverse direction of the contact 9.
