摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk device capable of driving both cartridge and single disk by positioning a cartridge and a single disk at drivable positions respectively using positioning members in common. SOLUTION: One pair of positioning arms 51 and 52 are provided in a case 1, and these positioning arms 51 and 52 are fixed with positioning pins 53 and 54. Elastic force of energizing members is received by the positioning arms 51 and 52 to energize the positioning pins 53 and 54 in the approaching directions to each other respectively. When the cartridge C is inserted, the positioning pins 53 and 54 are engaged with recessed parts C1 to position the cartridge C, and when the single disk Db is inserted, the disk is positioned by the positioning pins 53 and 54. Thus, the cartridge C and the single disk Db can both be positioned by the common positioning mechanism.

And the front end of a disk cartridge 1 is provided with an offset arc section 6 to make it possible to effectively use space in a mechanical chassis 17, as compared with prior art quadrangular disk cartridges.

Besides, when the planetary gear 23 is engaged with the circular-arcuate gear part 12l, the gear 23 revolves integrally with an arm 22 and a slide plate 71 is moved along the cabinet 10 according to the rotation of the arm 22. Then, a disk driving part is moved upward and downward between the descending and ascending positions. Thus, operations of the loading of the cartridge 3 or the like are performed with satisfactory reliability and smoothly.
