摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent which is used for removing a very small amount of carbon monoxide in a gas or a liquid, has large removal capacity, is hardly affected by other adsorbing materials and is stable and from which a metal is hardly eluted into the liquid even when this absorbent is used in the liquid and which is, if necessary, manufactured from an easily-accessible raw material and contains no halogen.
SOLUTION: This carbon monoxide absorbing solid is composed of a copper compound and an ion exchange resin and is manufactured by adding the ion exchange resin in a solution of copper salt and removing the used solvent. Copper (II) salt is used as the copper salt. The copper salt containing no halogen can also be used. It is particularly suitable that a chelate resin is used as the ion exchange resin.

SOLUTION: The method comprises the step(i) of feeding a liquid or gaseous starting material, oxygen and steam into a reactor(5) to be operated in a self-heating manner for producing a synthesis gas(9), branching the sidestream of the synthesis gas(9) and extracting carbon dioxide present there by carbon dioxide separation(11), the step(ii) of subjecting part or the whole of the carbon dioxide to feedback to the reactor(5) for producing the synthesis gas, the step(iii) of subjecting a carbon dioxide-free gas extracted from the carbon dioxide separation(11) to separation for producing carbon monoxide and subjecting part or the whole of the thus separated hydrogen to feedback to the synthesis gas(9), and the step(iv) of converting the resultant hydrogen-rich synthesis gas to the objective methanol and a purge gas in the methanol synthetic process.
