    • PURPOSE: To prevent lubrication oil from leaking, in a compressor for vehicle cooling devices, etc. by partitioning the inside of a compressing mechanism section, coolant inlet and outlet sections from each other, to form a seal chamber, and by maintaining the pressure in the seal chamber always at a predetermined value with the use of a pressure regulating valve.
      CONSTITUTION: A vane type rotary compressor incorporates in its housing 21 a compressing mechanism section 23 in which is rotatably disposed a rotor 28 composed of a plurality of vanes 27 that are fitted in a cam ring 24 having both ends sealed off by side plates 25, 26, retractably in the radial direction of the rotor. In this arrangement, a seal ring 37 is fitted in a part in which the main rotary shaft 31 of the rotor 28 pierces through a side plate 25. Further, a mechanical seal 38 is fitted in a part in which the rotary shaft 31 pierces through a front cover 22. A seal chamber 40 is formed around the rotary shaft 31 between these sealing members 37, 38, and lubrication oil is charged into the chamber 40 to lubricate necessary parts. Further, the seal chamber 40 is communicated with a coolant suction port 41 through a check valve 43 to maintain the pressure in the seal chamber 40 at a predetermined value.

    • PURPOSE: To aim at preventing a driving feeling from worsening, by installing a capacity selector mechanism for opening of closing a first bypass passage and a control valve, gradually closing all passages by means of dynamic pressure of reflux gas inside a second bypass passage with closure of this passage both inside a discharge chamber.
      CONSTITUTION: Compressed high temperature discharge gas is fed, with pressure, to a back pressure chamber 57 via a high pressure pipe 60, while a spool 47 is moved to a regular closing position together with a discharge valve 44 and a valve guard 46, closing a first bypass passage 56. Therefore, the whole quantity of gas discharged to the discharge chamber 22 passes through a second passage 65 alone and is made to flow back to a swash plate chamber 8 whereby a control valve 67 tries to be moved in a direction to close the passage 65 by dint of dynamic pressure of reflux gas, but since the intake of pressure compensating for negative pressure in a back pressure chamber 69 is throttled by a pressure intake hole 70, its motion is regulated so as to come sluggish, and a gas quantity is gradually increased till the control valve 67 comes to 100% operation having closed the passage 65 completely so that with this increase, engine load also slowly goes up, therefore a shock is effectively relievable.

    • PURPOSE: To mitigate over-compression by a method wherein an over-compression mitigating section, whose gap between the top surface of a piston and the end wall of a cylinder is larger than the same of a section around a delivery port, is provided at a distant position in a direction orthogonal to the moving direction of the piston.
      CONSTITUTION: The top surface 68 of the piston 18 is provided with four sets of circular holes with bottom 72W75 at parts whereat the flow of refrigerant gas is precluded or distant parts from positions opposing to the delivery ports 42. According to this method, the volume of refrigerant gas is enlarged by a volume corresponding to the volumes of the bottomed circular holes 72W75 and the rate of volumetric change of the refrigerant gas in accordance with the advance of the piston 18 is reduced. Accordingly, the compressing rate of the refrigerant gas is reduced and the over-compression thereof may be mitigated.
