    • PURPOSE:To provide a fuel pellet which has an increased calorific value, makes it possible to put fine coal particles conventionally discarded to practical use and effectively utilizes combustible components in sludge discharged from paper factories by mixing finely divided combustible materials with petroleum coke and pelletizing the mixture. CONSTITUTION:Finely divided combustible materials (e.g. low calorific coal powder and dried sludge discharged from paper factories) are mixed with petroleum coke having a calorific value of 8,500 calories. The mixture with or without a binder is molded into a pellet having a calorific value of 5,000-7,000 calories, thus obtaining the titled fuel pellet contg. petroleum coke blended therewith. Petroleum coke has disadvantages in that its catch fire point is greatly higher than that of coal, its sulfur content is at least 3 times that of coal and it is in the form of a fine particle. On the other hand, petroleum coke has advantages in that its calorific value is as high as 8,500 calories or above and its ash content is as low as 0.2-0.4%. By mixing petroleum coke with the combustible materials and pelletizing the mixture, the combustible materials conventionally discarded can be effectively utilized as the raw materials for fuel.

    • PURPOSE:To granulate ungranulated coal and granulated coal of a size smaller than 0.5mm. to a required size, by deashing dust coal in slurry and granulating it into a 1st batch of granulated coal for recovery and granulating ungranulated coal and small-sized granulated coal from a waste water tank into a 2nd batch of granulated coal. CONSTITUTION:A conditioned slurry is fed into a high-speed stirring tank 3 together with a binder emulsion B. After deashing, the slurry is led into a low- speed stirring tank 4 for agitation and formation of agranules in the require size of 0.5mm. or larger. The 1st batch of granulated coal of a required size is separated for recovery in a 1st shaking sieve 5 and waste water is discharged down into a 1st waste water receiving tank 6. As the amt. of slurry of ungranulated coal increases and reaches level H.L. in the receiving tank 6, the capacity of a pump 7 is equalized to the total of slurry and emulsion B fed into the tank 3. The ungranulated coal is intermittently formed into the 2nd batch of granulated coal in a granulation tank 8 and separated for recover in a 2nd shaking sieve 5a.

    • PURPOSE:To produce briquette having no compression cracking, chipping, etc. on the surface and having ggod quality, by producing the briquette from briquette raw material which is compounded with a binder and has a specific escaping rate. CONSTITUTION:A binder, for example, propane deasphalted asphalt is compounded with briquette raw material and the briquette is so prepared that the value of escaping ratio determined by the equation measured by a molding tester of a reciprocation type attains >=0.77. In the equation, W; the total weight packed in the molding tester of a reciprocation type, W1; the weight of a piece of the briquette molded by the tester of a reciprocation type. The briquette raw material prepd. in such a way is supplied to a double roll type molding machine and is molded by a hopper storage process.
