      SOLUTION: The controller for the injection molding machine comprises: steps SA1 to SA6 which drive a mold clamping servomotor and advance a movable platen to a fixed platen side; steps SA7 to SA13 which gain a position detection signal and an electric current detection signal when the movable platen arrives at a mold touch position, calculate position of the movable platen, calculate torque value T of the motor and calculate energy amount generated by the servomotor for mold clamping; and steps SA14 to SA18 which determine calculated mold clamping force from an elastic constant K of the mold clamping mechanism and the energy generated by the servo motor for mold clamping which is accumulated and determined in the step SA11 and, when the calculated mold clamping force does not fall into the range specified by the lower limit value of mold clamping force and the upper limit value of mold clamping force, stop molding cycle, output an alarm and display the calculated mold clamping force and the alarm onto the display device.
