    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to deflect electron beams vertically in a wide angle by arranging a part of an electron beam control device group at the opposite side of a luminous device to a linear electron source to use as an electron beam deflecting device, and using electrodes with slit-form opening holes parallel to the linear electrode source at a part of the control device group. CONSTITUTION:The electron emission of a linear cathode 2 is scanned controlling from the upper side to the lower side in order by vertical scan deflecting electrodes 1a, 1b... which are separated to the number half of the scanning lines, and drawn out by a grid group 3. When a potential to make the beam current ON is given to the electrode 1b, a potential to make the current OFF is given to the electrodes 1a and 1c. When the electrodes 1a and 1c are at the equal potential, the electron beam 6a reaches an anode 5 vertically, and when there is any potential difference, the distribution around the cathode is made asymmetric in the vertical direction to the center of the cathode 1b. And when this potential difference is large, the beam passes on a track 6d. Since the openings of the grid group 3 have been slit, the electron beam can reach the anode 5, the deterioration of beam transmissibility can be prevented, and the number of deflecting electrodes can be reduced less than half the scanning lines.

    • PURPOSE:To uniformize the characteristic of a video modulated signal voltage to a beam current of electron beams of numerous electron sources constituting a plate type cathode-ray tube, by successively impressing specific two kinds of correction factors on video signals corresponding to electron beam radiating electron sources, with one kind of factors being impressed by addition and the other kind of factors by multiplication. CONSTITUTION:At intersecting points of each cathode 10 and each vertical scanning electrode 12, electron sources 50a, 50b, 50c, ... are respectively formed and they are successively set to beam radiating states for every fixed period by vertical scanning electrode driving signals 51 which are successively impressed on the vertical scanning electrodes 12. Then, synchronously with the switching of electron beam radiation from the electron sources, electron beams are successively impressed on modulation means by impressing two kinds of correction factors D52a, D52b,... and D56a, D56b,... corresponding to the electron beam radiating electron sources on video signals 54 corresponding to the electron beam radiating electron sources, with one kind of factors being impressed by addition and the other kind of factors by multiplication. Therefore, the electron beam radiated from each electron source can be corrected so that two points on a video signal voltage to beam current characteristic curve can coincide with each other and unevenness in picture caused by the variation of the characteristic can be eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To contrive to improve accuracy in terms of assembling a flat type cathode ray tube by reading an index signal stored in a 1st storage means at a timing that it was stored in a 2nd storage means during each horizontal scan period and using said signal as an index signal for each horizontal scan line. CONSTITUTION:The index signal having a shaped waveform is led and stored in an index memory 53 only during one horizontal scan period where a switch 65 is turned on with the aid of a pulse from a gate pulse generator circuit 57. As for the display start timing in the horizontal direction of a picture display area, all hourly values or some of them are stored in a memory 62. In order to previously store the impression timing of a color modulation signal, contents stored in the index memory 53 are read out every horizontal scan period according to the hourly values stored in the memory 62. Thus a phase difference can be measured is the state of the phases of both signals are surely correspond one vs one, whereby the precise impression timing of the color modulation signal can be obtained.
