    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To join a small-diametral shield at an eccentric place from the axial center of a large-diametral shield by eccentrically rotating a slave machine housed in a rotary drum to the axial center of a master machine in master-slave shield machines. SOLUTION: A slave machine 3 is housed in a rotary drum 2 arranged at an eccentric place to the axial center of a master machine 1, and a cutter head 4 consists of a central cutter 41, an intermediate cutter 42 and a peripheral cutter 43, and is constituted in a manner that the cutter head 4 can be engaged and disengaged mutually by engaging jacks 5 and engaging pins 6. The axial center of the slave machine 3 is conformed to the axial center of the master machine 1 at the time of the excavation of the master machine 1, and the whole cutter head 4 is turned integrally. The rotary drum 2 is rotated and the axial center of the slave machine 3 is moved upwards at the time of the excavation of the slave machine 3, engagement between the central cutter 41 and the intermediate cutter 42 is released, and the slave machine 3 is separated and started from the master machine 1. Accordingly, the slave machine 3 is started from an eccentric place to the axial center of the master machine 1, and a small diametral shield can be joined with a large diametral shield at the eccentric place.

    • PURPOSE:To construct the connecting part between a shaft and an adit at a sharp angle by excavating a connecting section while pressing a curved segment with a rotating jack after construction of the shaft, and separating a nuclear shield machine 3 from a front drum to excavate the adit. CONSTITUTION:A propulsive jack is disposed in a rear drum 2, and a front drum 1 is connected to the rear drum 2 by a hinge 21 in such a manner as to be capable of bending. The cutter heads 11, 31 of a nuclear shield machine 3 are rotated to assemble a shaft segment 6 in the rear of the rear drum 2, while which excavation is carried out by a propulsive jack, and at a determined depth, the propulsive jack is exchanged to a rotating jack 23. A curved segment 61 is pressed by the rotating jack 23 to excavate to a determined depth, and then drilling is conducted by sue of a bit 13. Further, after excavating the connecting section, a tail plate 33 is connected to the rear end part of the outer shell 32 of the nuclear shield machine 3, which is then separated from the front drum 1 to start the excavation of an adit. Hence, the connecting part of the shaft and the adit can be excavated at a right angle or sharp angle to construct a tunnel, and the constructing cost and period can be reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the inspection and exchange work of a cutter bit to be executed handily with safety in atmospheric pressure by arranging passages in hollow shapes for enabling human beings to pass, in a space between a cutter spoke and a bulk head, or in an intermediate beam or the like. CONSTITUTION:Intermediate beam 10 having passages 9 for enabling human beings 8 to pass and set in the hollow shape of air-tight construction are saliently arranged on the side of the facing natural ground 7 of a cutter supporting ring 6. The beams 10 are integrally formed with cutter frames 12 with fitted cutter bits 11, and have passages 14 for enabling the human beings 8 to pass, and the hollow cutter spokes 13 of air-tight construction are fixed at the tips of the intermediate beams 10, and the passages 14 are communicated with the passages 9. When the cutter bits 11 are inspected and are exchanged, then the human beings 8 approach the bits 11 from a machine interior via the passages 9, 14 and other passages 29, 30 and work in the cutter spokes 13 without going out to the facing natural ground 7.
