This circuit-breaker is also provided with a switch part capable of switching the circuit from the first fixed contact 6 side to the current limiting contact C side or switching reversely with the operation of the movable contact 8 so as to provide a mechanism capable of switching the circuit to the current limiting contact 14 side while opening the pair of normal side contacts B earlier than the pair of interrupting contacts A so as to close the pair of current limiting contacts C.

The edge receiving spring 17 is made, being bent in roughly a U shape, by both opposite pieces 17b and 17b and a coupling piece 17c out of conductive elastic material, and fan-shaped parts 17d and 17d are made at the head. Hereby, a plug edge 4 linked to the conductive bar 3 is retained firmly by the edge receiving spring 17, and besides it can be easily inserted and removed.

In this circuit breaker, an OFF stop part 1t and a trip stop part 1u are continuously provided on a stopper is to which the movable contact 5 is pressed by the spring force of a reversing spring 11 at OFF and trip. Thus, the contact opening distance is increased at the trip time when a large arc is generated so as to improve breaking performance.

CONSTITUTION:An electric wiring conductor 35 is provided near a contact section 4 between a switch element 3 and one of the second terminals 2 connected to the switch element 3. The arc end on the fixed contact 8 side of an arc generated on the contact section 4 is allowed to jump to the electric wiring conductor 35 when a switch is tripped open. The electric wiring conductor 35 is connected to the second terminal 2 at one end section, a Z-shaped folded section 35a and an L-shaped folded section 35b are formed at the middle section, the switch element is connected at the other section, and the L-shaped folded section 35b is arranged near the contact section 4. The problem that the contact point is melted by an arc can be dissolved, a branch path used in the conventional example is not required to be provided, the number of components can be reduced, and the structure is simplified.
