    • PURPOSE:To obtain a miniature cassette tape recorder having a size equal to or smaller than that of a tape cassette, by storing a member which constitutes an external case in a cassette tape loading mode in a space of a cassette holder when no cassette tape is loaded. CONSTITUTION:A subcase 9 serves as a part of an external case at a position under the 2nd housing 2. The housing 2 is pushed from the side of an arrow head A to turn the case 9, and a cassette tape 17 is pushed out. A projected part 1a of the 1st housing 1 engages an engagement part 2f of the housing 2, and a lock part 7a of a lock button 7 engages a hook part 6d of a mechanism substrate 6 and locked. Then the housing 2 is locked to the housing 1, and the case 9 is stored to the upper surface part of the housing 1 at the inside of the housing 2. Thus it is possible to use effectively a space on the mechanism upper surface, i.e., a dead space produced when no cassette tape is loaded to store the case 9. This contributes greatly to a small and thin design of a cassette tape recorder.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize the loading of a cassette and to attain size reduction by providing a means which is inserted into at least one of the 1st and the 2nd positioning holes of the cassette and presses the cassette toward a head and a means which specifies the movement of the cassette by pressing. CONSTITUTION:The cassette 20 is pressed as shown by an arrow A with a cassette pressure pin 33 provided to an energizing lever 31 which is energized counterclockwise with a spring 32. The movement by the pressing is inhibited by the 1st guide parts 28a and 29a of cassette guides 28 and 29 near both terminals of a front surface part 30a, and its position is specified. Further, the taper 33c of the front end part 33a of a cassette pressing pin 33 abuts on the corner part 30e of the positioning hole 30c of the cassette 30 to press the cassette 20 as shown by an arrow E. Therefore, the position in the direction E is specified by the 2nd guide parts 28b and 29b of the cassette guide 28 and 29. Consequently, the loading state of the cassette is stabilized and the size is reduced on the whole.

    • PURPOSE:To miniaturize a tape recorder, by guiding a head and a pad shifter which presses or separates a tape to and from a fixed head with a pad by means of a projected part of a small area, and at the same time by controlling the azimuth. CONSTITUTION:A head 13 is fixed to a head rest 14. The rest 14 is attached to a holder 12 via screws 23 and 25 so as to secure the control of the azimuth. A pad shifter 15 is attached rotatably to a pin 16 implanted to the holder 12, and the shift of the shifter 15 is guided by projections 15c and 15d having a small area and provided to the shifter 15. The shifter 15 presses a tape (not shown in the figure) to the head 13 in a recording/reproducing mode, then separates the tape from the head in a rapid traverse/rewind mode. In such a way, the shifter has a smooth operation despite the control of the azimuth. This facilitates miniaturization of a tape recorder.

Then, the gear 19 turns until it gears with a capstan drive gear 29 and a projection 19e contacts the lever 53, and a head stand and pinch roller are controlled with the cam 19b to stop state. When a fast feed operation is made at playback state, the lever 53 turns clockwise while compressing the spring 52 with a projection 7d of the fast feed operation lever to control the head stand and pinch roller the same as the stop state to be at CUE and REVIEW mode, and when the fast feed lever is restored, the playback state is made via the spring 52. The mode switching is made only with transit of the control lever by a light operating force.

    • PURPOSE:To promptly stop a tape automatically at the trailing end thereof under a reproduced or cue-held condition by providing an automatic lock releasing mechanism which is made operative to detect that the rotations of a reel shaft is stopped thereby to automatically release only the locked condition of a rewinding rod. CONSTITUTION:When a tape is taken up to the side of a feed reel shaft 5 until the trailing end thereof, a gear 114 is stopped whereas a gear 111 is turned. In accord- ance with the rotations of the gear 111, the rotation center axis 107 of the gear 114 is shifted so that an arm 106 is turned clockwise about the shaft 105 of a rewinding rod 15a. The clockwise rotations of the arm 106 moves a second lock releasing lever 130 in the direction of arrow A through the projection 132 and shaft 131 thereof. In accordance with the movement of the second lever 130 in the direction of arrow A, along the slope 133 thereof, the projection 36 of a lock plate 21 is shifted in the direction of arrow C, and a rewinding button 15 is released from its locked condition by the movement of the lock plate 21 in the direction of arrow C so that the button restores its initial position with the aid of a spring force until it is brought into its stopped condition.
