    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a friction characteristic and seizure resistance by applying a thermosetting resin (an expoxy resin) blended with walnut shell powder as a friction material to an Fe group sintered alloy material treated with steam, hardening/joining the thermosetting resin by performing heating/pressurizing processing, and forming a layer composed of the friction material on a surface. SOLUTION: A synchronizer ring 4 is manufactured from an Fe-based alloy sintered body by sintering green compact at a about 1000 to 1200 deg.C after being formed as the green compact by pressurizing alloy element powder in a metal mold by blending/mixing the alloy element powder such as graphite powder or Cu powder when necessary by prescribed blending quantity with iron powder or low alloy steel powder. A layer 45 composed of a friction material is formed on a vertical groove 44 for cutting lubricating oil of such a product and a tapering inner peripheral surface 40 having a ring-shaped strip groove 42 orthogonal to this vertical groove. This layer 45 is formed of the friction material by blending walnut shell powder with a thermosetting resin such as an epoxy resin to thereby increase a coefficient of dynamic friction of an inner peripheral surface to improve a friction characteristic and seizure resistance.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form double layer thermally sprayed coating excellent in peeling resistance and crack resistance on the sliding face of a sliding member by thermally spraying a fitness layer on a wear resistant layer which is not subjected to mechanical working such as outer circumferential grinding, blasting or the like. SOLUTION: On the outer circumferential face 2 of a base material 1 of a piston ring 10, sprayed coating 5 composed of a wear resistant layer 3 and a fitness layer 4 is formed. The outer circumferential face 2 subjected to machining of the base material 1 made of cast iron is subjected to outer circumferential grinding, degreasing and shot blasting before thermal spraying and is finished to the roughness, e.g. of 10 to 70 μm Rz. The finished outer circumferential face 2 is thermally sprayed with a thermal spraying material of an Mo, an Ni-Cr alloy and chromium oxide to form a wear resistant layer 3, and, moreover, a thermal spraying material composed of Al, Fe, Ni, Mn and Cu is thermally sprayed to form a fitness layer 4. The thickness of the sprayed coating of the double layers is, e.g. >=300 μm. Since the surface of the wear resistant layer 3 is not subjected to outer circumferential grinding or the like, working stress causing the peeling or the cracks in the fitness layer 4 does not remain to improve the peeling resistance of the sprayed coating.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent scuffing at the time of high speed medium load low inertia and high speed low load high inertia by making this synchronizer ring of Fe system sintered alloy and applying nitriding in addition to blast treatment and steam treatment at least on its inner peripheral surface. SOLUTION: An Fe system alloy sintered body is manufactured by blending and mixing specified quantity of graphite powder in iron powder or low alloy steel powder and sintering it at 1,000-1,200 deg.C after making it into a green compact in a metal mold. Thereafter, surface roughness is made 30-70 μmRz by applying blast treatment on an inner peripheral surface of a synchronizer ring made of the sintered body worked in a specified shape, an iron oxide film is formed by steam treatment, formation of nitride in the inside of sintered alloy is prevented by sealing holes of the sintered alloy, and impact resistance is maintained. Furthermore, a nitrided layer is formed by nitriding treatment, and its hardness is made Hv 400-700. Consequently, an oil film formed on a contact surface with an objective member on the inner peripheral surface becomes thinner, a boundary lubricating state is maintained, and scuffing can be prevented even at the time of sliding of high speed medium load low inertia and high speed low load high inertia.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent peeling of rubber caused by shearing stress and the deterioration by stress concentration by axially projecting a plurality of projections from inner end faces opposed to metal hubs in both sides, by engaging the projections mutually in the circumferential direction with clearances formed between them, and by forming the outer circumferential faces of the projections flush with the outer circumferential faces of the hubs. SOLUTION: Three projections 12 which are axially projected from inner end faces opposed to two hubs 11 and mutually engaged in the circumferential direction at intervals are set flush with the outer circumferential faces of the respective hubs 11. That is to say, the side faces of the adjoining projections 12 in the circumferential direction of the hubs on the both sides are formed parts of two planes with the axial lines of the hubs set to the crossing lines and rubber 20 interposed between the driving- side and the driven-side hubs is divided circumferentially by the projections 12. The tensile and compressive stresses are thus generated without generating the shearing stress and there is no possibility that the outer circumferential part of the rubber 20 is peeled off from the hubs 11. This constitution can improve the durability of a contact type rubber shaft joint and prevent the stall of the device by rupture of the rubber.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding member coated with a film excellent in wear resistance, scuffing resistance and the characteristics of increasing no wear of the mating material (mating attackability). SOLUTION: The outer circumferential face 3 of a sliding member is coated with a Cr-V-B-N alloy film 4. At this time, the Cr-V-B-N alloy film is formed preferably by a physical vapor deposition method, particularly, an ion plating method, a vacuum deposition method or a sputtering method, and, preferably, the content of V is 0.1 to 30 wt.%, and the content of B is 0.05 to 20 wt.%. Since the Cr-V-B-N allay film 4 formed on the outer circumferential face 3 of the sliding member is excellent in wear resistance, scuffing resistance and mating attackability, even in the case the sliding environment of the sliding member is made severe, the performance to be required can be satisfied. Moreover, preferably, the whole circumferential face or at least the outer circumferential face 3 of the sliding member is provided with a nitriding layer 5, and the surface of the nitriding layer 5 is coated with the Cr-V-B-N alloy film 4.
