Also, a first seal member 8 is attached to a tubular part 91 of a retainer 9 to overlap a support collar part 93 of the retainer 9 and then the tubular part 91 of the retainer 9 is fitted to the shaft part 72 of the tubular support 7. A male screw 71 of the tubular support 7 is screwed into a female screw of a bed seat 6 to be temporarily mounted. Then, a tubular part 62 of the bed seat 6 is dropped into a through hole 12 in the main pipe through a screw hole 46 in a saddle 4, while the bed seat 6 is rotated so that an engaged part 69 is engaged with an held by an engaging part 47 on the saddle 4 side.

    • PURPOSE:To easily couple a shaft coupling to the internal surface of a threaded body well matching a large pitch of helical threads, and almost eliminate a restriction on the extension of the axial length of the threads by providing a helically threaded metal inner tube and an outer tube surrounding the entire length of the inner tube. CONSTITUTION:A shaft coupling 1A has a metal inner tube 2 and a metal outer tube 3 having larger wall thickness than the inner tube 2. The wall of the inner tube 2 is molded over entire length thereof so as to have helical threads 4. Also, the threads 4 have a corrugated form of cutout edge, and a pitch between the adjacent ridges 4a or the roots 4a and 4b thereof is made identical at any position. In addition, the pitch is made to suit a pitch between the helical threads of a threaded shaft body. For the inner tube 2, a steel tube such as a high strength structural steel pipe rolled and helically corrugated to have the threads 4 is used and the inner tube 2 can be thus easily and accurately fabricated, regardless of the length thereof.

Accordingly, the support member 8 is advanced so that the a cylindrical seal member 7 and a back-up ring 18 which are loosely fitted in a lower flange part 8B of the cylindrical support member 8 are made into press-contact with a tapered surface 16 at the lower end of the insertion part 5B so as to be deformed, thereby the cylindrical seal member 7 is made into close contact with the tapered surface 16 and the inner surface of a lining layer 9, spanning therebetween.

CONSTITUTION:A pipe joint 1 suitable for connecting piping members 2 and 2 for protecting communication cable embedded in asphalt-paved road, has a cylindrical joint main body 4 provided with piping sockets 3 in both ends. A heat contraction ring 6 of tapered inner surface, which is made of a shape memory alloy that is contracted when heated, is fitted into an annular ring 5 provided on the inner circumferential surface of the sockets 3 of the joint main body 4. A through stop ring 7 consisting of an annular band 7a which is freely contracted and extended such as rubber, and a through stop ball 7b which is stored in a hole provided at a fixed interval in the circumferential direction of the band 7a, is fitted in the heat contraction ring 6.     • PURPOSE:To produce molten metal having a desired property by a method wherein degrees of progress and reliability of actual operating results between the latest and present measured values for control items are determined to find out a control item having the highest degree of reliability, the amount of change of operating condition to be predetermined is decided according to the degree of progress of the control item and a cupola furnace is operated. CONSTITUTION:Two or more control items, that are required for molten metal from a cupola furnace to attain desired values during operation of the cupola furnace, are measured twice or more with the lapse of time. The progress degrees A-F of actual operating results between the latest and present measured values of control items are determined according to the results of measurements. The degree of reliability CCF corresponding to each degree of progress is determined. The degree of reliability relies on the elapsed time from the time of measurement of line control items till the time of present diagnose. The obtained degrees of reliability of control items are compared with each other to find out a control item having the highest degree of reliability, the amount of change of operating condition to be predetermined is decided according to the degree of progress of the control item, and the cupola furnace is operated.
