      SOLUTION: The receiver comprises a receiving unit 3 for reproducing audio detect signals Cau and demodulate synchronizing signals Csync from receive signals Sin produced across a receiving antenna 2, a level detector 4 for detecting a sound detect signal Cau to output a detect signal showing the effective receiving condition or not; a continuous decider 6 for deciding whether the decoded synchronizing signals Csync are continuously reproduced at a high frequency in time, to output a decision signal Eus showing that there is a stability when they are continuously reproduced at a high frequency, and a decision signal Eus showing that there is no stability when they are not continuously reproduced at a high frequency; and a controller 7 which decides that an effective channel is now being received with the input of the decision signal Eus to show that there is a stability, and the detect signal Sd to show the effective reception. When the controller decides that the effective channel is being received now, it stores information of a tuned frequency at this time to make the auto search and the auto preset.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an enough reception sensitivity to be obtained even if an FM broadcast signal is received by a television tuner.
      SOLUTION: First varactor diodes 22a and 24a for changing a tuning frequency are provided to tuning circuits 22 and 24, and a second varactor diode 26a for changing an oscillation frequency is provided to an oscillator 26. A tuning voltage between both ends of the first varactor diodes 22a and 24a is made equal to the tuning voltage between both ends of the second varactor diode 28a when a telephone signal is received, and the tuning voltage between both ends of the second varactor diode 28a is relatively made lower than the tuning voltage between the first varactor diodes 22a and 24a when the FM broadcast signal is received.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital television broadcasting signal receiver reducing temporal delay at channel switching operation by a user, and switching in the receiving direction of a multidirectional antenna by reducing the number of switching times in the receiving direction of the multidirectional antenna to a minimum, even if the user switches the channel in the digital TV broadcasting signal receiver 1 to which the multidirectional antenna (a smart antenna) 2 is connected.

The receiving direction of the largest number of counts among the receiving directions in which the signal receiving strength data show a value exceeding a prescribed threshold, that is, the direction having the largest number of channels, by which the user can simultaneously and normally receive without switching the receiving direction of the multidirectional antenna 2, is decided as the optimum receiving direction of the channel by the control unit 16.
