    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small and inexpensive optical element for light guiding for a double wavelength optical head device used for aligning the optical axis of each laser beam and guiding each laser beam to a common photodetector. SOLUTION: In the double wavelength optical head device 1, the optical element 5 to guide a first and second laser beams L1 and L2 whose optical axes are deviated to the common photodetector 13 consists of a resin molding and provided with a discoid main body 51, an incident plane 52 formed so as to have one stepped surface and a flat light-emitting surface 53 perpendicular to an optical axis 5a formed on the other surface. The difference in level of the adjacent stepped surface 54 which constitutes the stepped surface of the incident plane 52 is one wavelength of optical path difference only when a return laser beam Lr1 passes. The return laser beam Lr1 passes the element 5 without being deflected in the traveling direction. A return laser beam Lr2 is deflected at a prescribed angle when passing the optical element 5 for light guiding, and condensed on the same position as that of the return laser beam Lr1 on the common photodetector.

    • PURPOSE:To correct the dislocation of a converging point and to attain the correct detection by cantilever-supporting a beam splitter with a light emitting element side as a supporting point. CONSTITUTION:A beam splitter 3 is fixed by cantilever-supporting with the edge part of at a light emitting element side as a supporting point. Consequently, the inclination further occurs from an inherent angle to a light dividing surface 3a by the deformation, etc., due to the heat of the beam splitter 3, the reflecting light and the transmitting light due to the light dividing surface 3a have the inclination more than the inherent ones, and even then, the crossing position of the light dividing surface 3a of the beam splitter 3 to generate the inclination and the optical axis of the laser beam is dislocated in the direction to cancel the inclination of the reflecting light or the transmitting light. For this reason, even when the inclination occurs at the light dividing surface 3a of the beam splitter, the inclination is not reflected as the dislocation of the converging point as it is. Thus, while the dislocation is corrected, the converging point is stretched by a concave lens 7 and enters a pin photodiode.

    • PURPOSE:To attain the shaping and synthesizing of two optical beams having different wavelengths respectively and the separation of the synthesized optical beam into emitted light and reflected light only by one optical element by unitedly forming two incident surfaces having a beam shaping function, a reflecting surface having wavelength selectivity and a polarizing surface. CONSTITUTION:An optical beam 1e with wavelength lambda2 outputted from the 2nd light source is parallel with an optical beams 1a, is made obliquely incident upon the 2nd incident surface 2f as P-polarized light similarly to the optical beam 1a and refracted as an optical beam 1f shaped at its vertical to horizontal ratio and the optical beam 1f is made incident upon an inner reflecting surface 2b. When the incident angle of the optical beam 1f upon the reflecting surface 2b coincides with that of the optical beam 1b, the optical axis of an optical beam 1g is made to coincide with that of the optical beam 1b and the optical beam 1g is projected from the 1st emitting surface 2e as an optical beam 1d2 similarly to the 1st light source. Consequently, the shaping and synthesis of two optical beams can be attained and the two optical beams can be made parallel with each other and intersected with the emitted light at right angles.
