Accordingly, the clutch, forming the engaging surface to be mutually tilted in the clutch inner 37 and the clutch outer 40 over the whole area in their peripheral direction, increases a load capacity by ensuring a wide area of the engaging surface despite its small diameter.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a clutch device which may be smoothly engaged upon rotation, by constituting the clutch device with a cam means between a clutch ring and a cam ring, a bias means disposed between the cam ring and an input shaft, and a stopper for limiting the slip between the clutch ring and the cam ring. CONSTITUTION:A clutch means 11 and a cam means 15 are disposed between a chain wheel 15 and a clutch ring 9 and between the clutch ring 9 and a cam ring 13, respectively. A leaf spring 19 as a bias means and stoppers 16a, 16b for restraining the clutch 9 and the cam ring 13 from slipping relative to each other exceeding a predetermined value are disposed between the cam ring 13 and the inner race of a bearing 3. Accordingly, even upon rotation the input shaft and the rotary member may be smoothly coupled together, and the stoppers may decrease shocks in the clutch means.
