    • PURPOSE:To perform braking safely and to improve operationability by driving the operational arm of brake with a spring through a cam while releasing with high pressure air then driving with high pressure air to be controlled through a foot valve. CONSTITUTION:Upon bringing an exchange valve 35 to the position 35a, the air is discharged from a piston cylinder 26 into the atmosphere. Consequently a cam 38 is rotated to the left by a spring 32 while the arm 20 is also rotated to the left, and the brake band is pulled to function the brake. Upon exchange of the valve 35 to the position 35b, high pressure air is supplied into the cylinder 26 to rotate the cam 38 to the right against the force of the spring 32 thus to release braking. Upon stepping of a pedal 36 prior to complete release of braking, high pressure air is supplied to the piston cylinder 25 to extend the piston rod accordingly. Consequently the arm 20 will rotate to the left to function the brake proportionally with the force regulated by the valve 36.

    • PURPOSE:To allow small operating force to produce large braking force in a braking device, which generates the braking force in compliance with the amount of movement of a rod or the like interlocked with the operating lever, by applying an additional braking force given by a brake cylinder. CONSTITUTION:Stamping on a lever 12 will oppose the force of No.1 rod 11 to the initial force set at a compression spring 10, so that No.2 rod 6 and a link 8 swing a lever 5 in the direction as fastening the brake band 2 while holding the initial condition of brake disengaged. A further stamping of the level 12 in order to let the force of the rod 11 increase exceeding the initial spring force of the spring 10 will shrink the spring 10 till the balanced spring force with the aid of link 8 and rod 9 to produce a relative movement between the rods 11 and 6, so that a variable pressure-reducer valve 7 makes expansion and the cylinder 15 is connected with a tank 31, when the pressure in the cylinder 15 drops down to the pressure balanced at the time. Thereby a compression spring 19 is expanded and the differential force between the spring force and cylinder 15 is transmitted to the lever 5. Thus the braking force is increased.
