    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost and increase the yield while heightening the safety and operation efficiency of the cultivation of laver compared to those of the conventional one.
SOLUTION: A growing material on which spores of the edible laver are arranged is detachably fixed to a base stand having weight. The laver preferentially grows on the growing material because the spores of the edible laver are arranged on the growing material to prevent the growth of seaweeds growing in the same low-tide zone as the laver and having a low commercial value. In one embodiment, the upper surface of the growing material is formed into a not-uneven surface (a smooth surface or a rough surface), and is arranged on the base stand so as to be horizontal to make the harvesting operation easy. The reason for horizontally arranging the upper surface is for artificially creating a growing condition similar to the natural environment by paying attention to the characteristics of the laver easily growing at the low-tide zone (a splash zone) and by arranging the growing material on the shore line facilitating the operation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite type artificial reef that is made of a combination of concrete and a woody organic material where the component effect of the woody organic material and the pore structure of the porous concrete are optimally combined to provide the composite type artificial reef having the highest alga reef and fish reef effects.
SOLUTION: As a base for an artificial reef, is used a porous concrete having continuous pore structure to promote rapid elution of alkali components and the complicated gap structure and the surface properties accompanying the gap structure are utilized as a spaces on which spores of sea weeds or floating sea weeds and fine marine organisms stay to build up an environmental area suitable for marine species. Thus, it can develop the function as a fish reef or a sea weed reef from the early step and can build up fish-passing ways.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide artificial fish-breeding reef facilities which have an expensive material cost, improve fish livability, enlarge a living area, make a great number of fishes inhabit the area, do not subside even in installation on the sea bottom of soft ground and reproduce a useful artificial fish-breeding reef from a conventionally dumped FRP product and the artificial fish-breeding reef. SOLUTION: A rubble mound 72 comprising rubble as a material is installed on the sea bottom deeper than a naturally growing natural seaweed bed 71 and the artificial fish-breeding reef 1 is fixed to the surface of the rubble mound 72. The artificial fish-breeding reef 1 is equipped with a seaweed bed stage 30 for storing soil for growing seaweeds. The depth of water of the seaweed bed stage 30 of the artificial fish-breeding reef 1 is the same as that of the naturally growing natural seaweed bed 71. A fish-breeding reef 74 for adult fish larger than the artificial fish-breeding reef is arranged on the sea bottom deeper than the sea bottom on which the artificial fish-breeding reef 1 is laid and an artificial shore is installed between the artificial fish-breeding reef 1 and the natural seaweed bed 71. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a concrete block capable of creating an environment easily inhabited by animals and plants in a space formed by stacking the concrete block, capable of reducing a construction cost by simplifying a construction operation, and capable of increasing a stability at the time of installation and stacking thereof. SOLUTION: This concrete block comprises an octagonal column-shaped drum part, a flange part formed in a short octagonal column-shape thicker and shorter than the drum part, continuously arranged coaxially with each other at the axial both ends of the drum part, and having a sectional shape similar to the sectional shape of the drum part and having corresponding diagonals matching with each other, and bolt insert holes formed through the flange part. When the block is stacked, an adjacent block is connected to the block with connection bolts passed through the bolt insert holes, and spaces communicating with each other are provided between the blocks. The space can be used as the habitat of living things. Since the blocks on upper and lower stages are stacked in engagement with each other, the blocks can be prevented from slipping therebetween, and foundation work must not be performed separately.
