    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent compound and a method for producing the compound, which is excellent in solubility with an organic solvent, in compatibility with a resin, a prepolymer or a monomer, particularly in compatibility with a silicone resin, and which allows preparation of a resin composition by an easy process, and to provide a fluorescent resin composition including the compound.SOLUTION: A fluorescent compound is expressed by general formula (1). In the formula, Rto Reach represent a substituent selected from a monovalent hydrocarbon group, alkoxy, aryloxy, halogen atom, hydrogen atom, amino, cyano, and siloxane-containing group expressed by formula (2), however, at least one of Rto Ris a siloxane-containing group expressed by formula (2). In formula (2), Sx represents an organosiloxanyl group; A represents a single bond, -O-, -S-, -NR-, or a divalent hydrocarbon group which may include a combination of the groups; and R represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group. As compound has excellent compatibility with an organic solvent or a resin and can be uniformly dispersed in various media, a fluorescent resin composition with high transparency, lightness and color saturation can be easily obtained. Since the compound is a single compound, the compound can be purified to high purity, giving high fluorescence efficiency.
