SOLUTION: A calorific value W corresponding to a specific burning rate of the water heater is divided by a flow rate Q of mixed water to produce a temperature rise ΔT, and the temperature rise ΔT is subtracted from the set hot water supply temperature S to produce a corrected temperature MT. A mixer controlling means is provided to control the operation of the hot/cold water mixer so that the detection temperature of the mixed water temperature sensor becomes equal to the corrected temperature MT, if the detection temperature of the mixed water temperature sensor is below the set hot water supply temperature S even after the hot/cold water mixer is controlled to maximize the mixing ratio of the hot water in the mixed water.

The user turns the switch 54 on only for a short time. Therefore, when the switch 54 is on after the predetermined time, the device can determine that the switch was not turned on by the user. The combustion device 10 is controlled in this way and ensures safety since ignition is not started if the switch 54 was not turned on by the user.
