    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip molding which can allow the whole surface of the chip molding to have a higher hardness than that of a molding comprising only a flexible polyurethane foam chip, and can reduce the weight of the molding, and a method of manufacturing the same.
SOLUTION: The chip molding 20 is formed by steps that a first chip material and a second chip material are mixed, a mixed material in which first chip pieces 24 and second chip pieces 26 are dispersed uniformly is packed, and at the same time, the first and the second chip pieces are combined by an adhesive to be integrated. The first chip material is an aggregate of the first chip pieces formed by crushing of a flexible polyurethane foam. The second chip material is an aggregate of the second chip pieces formed by crushing of a thermoplastic resin foam. Here, an average outside dimension of at least any one of the first chip piece and the second chip piece is controlled so that a bulk density of the first chip material and a bulk density of the second chip material may become equal.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To meet requirement for a weather strip to be reduced in weight and prevent the outer surface of a mounting part from having unevenness with spoiled appearance.
SOLUTION: The mounting part 17 includes outside portions made of sponge rubber material P3 in areas except for leading ends of sidewalls 20 and 21. This prevents the occurrence of unevenness on the outer surface of the mounting part 17 with spoiled appearance. Further, the outside and inside of the mounting part 17 are partly made of sponge rubber material P3 having a small specific gravity for reduction of the mounting part 17 in weight; and a core material 19 is formed with projections for enhanced rigidity with the core material 19 having a plate thickness reduced for lightweight. This results in lightweight of the weather strip 14. Further, the inside of the mounting part 17 have holding lip 23 and their circumferential portions made of high-rigidity rubber material P4 for appropriately enhanced rigidities of the holding lip 23 and their circumferential portions, enhancing the holding lips 23 the holding force of a flange 13.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite material for injection molding which is excellent in flowability during injection molding and to provide an injection-molded product obtained by using the same.
SOLUTION: The composite material is obtained by melting and kneading a polybutylene terephthalate having no sulfonic acid group (component A), a fiber-like inorganic filler (component B), and an organized layered silicate (component C), wherein the component C is in a dispersed state while allowing layer separation. In the composite material, an alkali metal salt (component D) of a 16-32C monocarboxylic acid is mixed as an aggregation prevention agent for preventing the aggregation of the component C in a dispersed state when the composite material is again heated and melted. The composite material contains, by mass, 60-75% component A, 15-35% component B, 1-10% component C and 0.5-5% component D when the total amounts of the components A, B, C and D are 100%.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent circular marks from being formed by air bubbles sticking to the surface of an extrusion molded product when cooling the extrusion molded product with cooling water. SOLUTION: Cooling water containing a surfactant that exhibits a defoaming action in addition to a surface tension lowering action and a lubricity enhancing action is used as cooling water for cooling the extrusion molded product 11. The formation of air bubbles is prevented or restrained by the defoaming action of the cooling water containing the surfactant. Further, even if air bubbles are produced to stick to the surface of the extrusion molded product 11 when the concentration of the surfactant exhibiting the defoaming action falls, the sticking force of air bubbles is lowered by the surface tension lowering action of the cooling water containing the surfactant, and the air bubbles can be detached from the surface of the extrusion molded product 11 at an early stage. The whole surface of the extrusion molded product 11 can thereby be cooled almost at the same cooling speed to prevent the formation of such large circular marks as to be recognizable on the surface of the extrusion molded product 11. • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate working a metal core material, and to lighten the weight of a weather strip while securing the strength of the weather strip with the metal core material embedded therein.
SOLUTION: The metal core material 16 before heating-cured is bending-worked into an intermediate transverse cross-sectional shape at an ambient temperature, using a heating-curing type high-tensile strength steel sheet of hardness and tensile strength getting high by the heating-curing of maintaining it at a prescribed temperature or more for a prescribed time or more, as a material of the metal core material 16. Then, a rubber material of the weather strip 13 is vulcanized to be cured, by maintaining the weather strip 13 with the embedded metal core material 16 for a prescribed time or more while heated at a prescribed temperature or more, and the metal core material 16 is heating-cured to enhance the hardness and the tensile strength of the metal core material 16, compared with those before heated. A sheet thickness of the metal core material 16 is thereby thinned to lighten the weight of the weather strip 13, while securing the strength of the weather strip 13 with the embedded metal core material 16.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance sealing property of a joint part of an engagement lip of an extrusion molding part of a glass run channel assembly and an engagement projection of a die molding part, and manufacturing efficiency of the glass run channel assembly.
SOLUTION: When the extrusion molding parts 13, 14 are set in a molding die and the die molding part 15 is molded, a side wall part 18 at an outdoor side is pushed out in an outside direction at terminal parts of the extrusion molding parts 13, 14 by a core of the molding die and it is closely adhered to the engagement lip 24 at the outdoor side. The die molding part 15 is molded in the state that it retains the engagement lip 24 such that a level difference in a height direction is eliminated between a distal end of the engagement lip 24 and an apex of the engagement projection 32. Thereby, the engagement lip 24 and the engagement projection 32 are joined to each other such that the distal end of the engagement lip 24 and the apex of the engagement projection 32 are continuously connected without the level difference. Thereby, at the joint part of the engagement lip 24 and the engagement projection 32 and at the whole area near it when it is attached to a window frame, the engagement lip 24 and the engagement projection 32 are closely adhered and engaged with the window frame opposed to them.
