摘要： PURPOSE:To enable to use the memory capacity comparatively less with a good efficiency, by splitting the memory unit into n sets of memory blocks consisting of m sets of the unit memory sections respectively, and by keeping the relation of m=n (where; p is a natural number). CONSTITUTION:The sequential write-in of the video signal for the first one field's share is made to the unit memory section 14 for one field's share, that is, the memory blocks 1 to m n, and at the next field, together with the readout of the sequence of arbitrary desire, the video signal sequentially incoming to either of the blocks 1 to m n of the memory section 14 immediately after the readout one after another is written in. Further, as to each field after that, the write-in immediately after the sequential readout is made, and the conversion of the scanning line sequence of the video signal is made under the control unit 15 driven with the synchronizing signal. Since the memory unit is split into n blocks consisting of m sets of unit memory sections and the relation of n =m (where; p is a natural number) is kept, the period of the replacement of the readout sequence is shortened and the constitution of the control signal generator controlling 15 the sequential replacement canbe made simple.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a screen and to achieve long life by forming a sealed gas primarily of He, Ne and Xe, and by using a blended gas in which the partial pressure of each gas exceeds 5% in relation to the whole sealed gas. CONSTITUTION:When a blended gas (A) (He 0%, Ne 85%, Xe 15%) is used as a sealed gas in a gas discharge type display device, discharging is expanded to only the two thirds of a discharge cell 9 along a negative electrode 2 with an opening 8a as a center. When a blended gas B (He 40%, Ne 40%, Xe 20%) is used as the sealed gas, the expansion 11 of discharging is throughout the entire surface of the cell 9. When a blended gas C (He 95%, Ne 0%, Xe 5%) is used as the sealed gas, the expansion 11 of discharging is the same as the case where the blended gas B is used, and is almost throughout the entire surface of the discharge cell 9. When the blended gas B or C is used, the screen quality is improved.

摘要： PURPOSE:To correct variance in resistance value which increases with time by reading information regarding a resistance value out of a storage part according to a driving signal specifying a cell and correcting the quantity of electricity applied to the cell. CONSTITUTION:A control part 10, the storage part 11, and a time counter 12 are added to a driving circuit. This storage part 11 is previously stored with a value obtained by measuring the resistance value by some method or a value obtained from the value through some function. The time counter 12, on the other hand, detects the integrated use time of the gas discharge type display device PDP1. In this case, a certain kind of calculation is performed by using resistance values by cells stored in the storage part 11 and the integrated use time detected by the time counter 12, and the level of a driving signal to drive a cell is corrected. The corrected driving signal is stored in an image memory 9, and read out sequentially and supplied to a column driving circuit 2. Consequently, suitable corrections are made for a certain integrated use time, so variance in light emission luminance among the cells can be minimized.
