    • PURPOSE: To reduce displacement of a V-belt by so setting the positional relation between both pulleys of a fixed one and another as to provide the V-belt with two points at which the center positions in the longitudinal direction thereof make a zero displacement within a range of applicable transmission ratio.
      CONSTITUTION: The positional relation between the fixed pulley 10a of a driving pulley 10 and the fixed pulley 12a of a driven pulley 12 is so set that the center position O of a V-belt part which runs on a driving pulley 10 and the center position P of another V-belt part which runs the driven pulley 12 are aligned with each other if a transmission ratio is within a range between 1.5 and 0.67. Through the applicable range of transmission ratio (between 0.5 and 2.0), there will be two points at which displacement amount is zero. Since displacement amount of the V-belt may be reduced, the durability can be improved greatly.

    • PURPOSE:To sharply reduce the generation of noise, by a method wherein an elastic block part, formed integrally with a loop member, is disposed between blocks, and each block is guided by means of the elastic block to bring it into continuous contact with a pulley. CONSTITUTION:A V-belt comprises a loop member 10 made of rubber and a number of blocks 14 mounted to the loop member and made of phenol resin. In which case, the loop member 10 includes an annular continuous part 10a, elastic block parts 10a, located on the inner periphery side at a given distance, and outer peripheral parts 10c formed on the outer periphery side. The annular continuous part 10a of the loop member 10a is attached from both sides in grooves 14b on both sides of each block 14, and the block 14 is attached between the elastic blocks 10b to form a V-belt. The continuous side surface, contacting with a pulley, of the block 14 and the elastic block part 10 is positioned inside a pitch line.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent generation of sudden engine brake by a method wherein remarkable change in the ratio of speed change is prevented when the gear is shifted into N range once during running in the running range of D, L or the like with a vehicle speed higher than predetermined, then the gear is shifted again into the running range from the N range. CONSTITUTION:The device is constituted of a previous time shift position memorizing means 2, memorizing the shift position immediately before switching the shift position, and an N range speed change commanding signal switching means 3, commanding a predetermined large speed change ratio corresponding to the speed change ratio upon starting when the gear is shifted into the N range at a speed lower than a given vehicle speed while determining the speed change ratio commanding signal based on the shift position signal memorized in the previous time shift position memorizing means 3 when the gear is shifted into the N range at the given vehicle speed. Accordingly, even if a shifting operation such as D range N range D range during running is effected, the sudden engine brake is not generated and the vehicle may be returned smoothly into the running condition thereof in the first D range.
