    • PURPOSE:To improve dynamic sensitivity, dot reproducibility and image preservation stability by incorporating a pigment having a predetermined oil absorption amount in an intermediate layer and organic developer formed of special compound, special stabilizer and calcium carbonate as pigment in a heat sensitive color developing layer in a thermal recording sheet for a heat pen, etc. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer of a thermal recording sheet having the intermediate layer and a heat sensitive color developing layer sequentially provided on a support comprises organic or inorganic pigment having an oil absorption amount of 80ml/100g based on JIS K 510 such as alumino of about 70-90wt.%. The developing layer contains organic developer formed of compound represented by a formula I such as 4-hydroxy-4'-isopropoxydiphenyl sulfone, a stabilizer such as 4-benzyloxy-4'-(2,3-epoxy-2-methylpropoxy)diphenyl sulfone, and pigment such as calcium carbonate. In the formula I, R is propyl group, isopropyl group, n-butyl group.

    • PURPOSE:To improve optical reading properties in a near infrared region by a method wherein a substrate is a specific opaque polyester resin, a basic colorless dye is at least one of dyes forming a recording image and having absorption in a specific near infrared region, and an intermediate layer containing an oil absorbing pigment having non-absorption in a specific near infrared region is provided between the substrate and a thermal recording layer. CONSTITUTION:An opaque polyester resin of 100-500mum thickness containing 10-60wt.% calcium carbonate in a polyester resin is used as a substrate. Thereon, an intermediate layer containing an oil absorbing pigment having non-absorption in a 700-1200nm near infrared region and a near infrared light absorbing thermal recording layer containing a leuco dye having absorption in a 700-1200nm near infrared region are successively provided. It is desirable that the calcium carbonate has a particle diameter of 0.3-5mum and is contained in the amount of 10-60wt.% in the polyester resin. As the oil absorbing pigment, calcined clay, amorphous silica, and the like can be exemplified. As the near infrared light absorbing leuco dye, 2-methyl-6-p-(p-dimethylaminophenyl)aminoanilino fluorane or the like is especially desirable.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance thermal response, resistance to weather, resistance to oil, and properties of optically reading a bar code, etc., in a near infrared region, by incorporating a specific fluorane leuco dye and a specific divinyl compound in a thermal color-forming layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal color-forming layer contains a fluorane leuco dye shown by a formula (I) as a basic colorless dye and a divinyl compound shown by a formula (II). The specific divinyl compound and the specific fluorane leuco dye in use markedly efficiently absorb a light in a near infrared region when generating a hot melt reaction with a color developer. The use of the divinyl compound in combination with the fluorane leuco dye results in the occurrence of a synergistic action between them in the hot melt reaction. As a result, a chemical bonding force between the organic color developer and the divinyl compound and that between the organic color developer and the fluorane leuco dye are remarkably enhanced. In this manner, even under a long-time exposure to the environmental condition affected by light, heat, humidity, etc. a colored image is kept stable and properties of optically reading a recording image in a near infrared region are never deteriorated.
