    • PURPOSE:To aim at enhancing the bending rigidity by accommodating a secondary intermediate shaft and a part of a gear train on an output shaft in an auxiliary mission casing, and by accommodating the remainder and a counter gear train in a main mission casing coupled to the front section casing. CONSTITUTION:Power for driving a differential gear unit arranged at the substantial center of a vehicle body is transmitted from a torque converter 3 through a counter gear train 10 and a main speed change gear train 20. In this arrangement, a second intermediate shaft 7 and a part of a gear train on an output shaft 8 are housed in an auxiliary transmission casing 40b, and the remainder and the counter gear train 10 are housed in a main mission casing 44. Since the output side section of the above-mentioned auxiliary mission casing 40 is a part of a front part casing 40 which is cast integrally with a torque converter casing 40a or a gear casing, the rigidity thereof is high so that it stably bears the power take-off shaft 8. Thus, it is possible to shorten the overall length of the transmission, and to reduce noise in meshing of gears or the like.

    • PURPOSE:To select and control accurately an interlocking plate and to form compactly the whole with good assembling performance by fixing a selection shaft to the interlocking plate supported rotatably on a fitting base. CONSTITUTION:The selection shaft is fixed to the interlocking plate supported rotatably on the fitting base, and the free end part of a selection node arm is coupled with this selection shaft. For example, a shift lever 48 is supported pivotally on the fitting base 41 by a pivotal support shaft 49, and an engagement pin 50 is projected at one terminal of this shift lever 48 and fitted in an engagement recessed part 51 formed at one terminal of a shift member 45. Then, the selection shaft 55 is welded to the interlocking plate 44 and one terminal of this selection shaft 55 is run through an arcuate hole 56 bored in the fitting base 41 to form a coupling male part 57 which projects out of the fitting base 41. Then, the coupling male part 57 is engaged with a coupling female part 58 formed on a change piece 54 fixed atop of a shift rod 40.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce and absorb torque variation and prevent torsional oscillation by interlocking the support damper of the reaction torque actuated on a stator member with the drive and driven shafts of a planetary gear mechanism connected to the stator member. CONSTITUTION:A sun gear 10 is kept in stationary status by damper 13 through a stator shaft 11 and a lever 12. In this state, when one of gear trains 41 to 44 is selected and operated, the rotary torque transmitted to a clutch shaft 5 from an engine is transmitted to a drive wheel through an internal gear 7, planetary gear 8, carrier 9, input shaft 2, output shaft 3, driven gears 17 and 18, and differential gear 19. In this case, the reaction torque from the planetary gear 8 to the sun gear 10 is transmitted to and supported by the damper 13 through the stator shaft 11 and the lever 12. As a result, the variation of the reaction torque is absorbed by the damper and torsional oscillation can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a torsional vibration attenuating mechanism for use in speed change gears, in which a freely rotatable center shaft and a tubular shaft, also freely rotatable and fitted on the outsede of the center shaft, are provided in the casing of speed change gears, and a slidable ring member, a spring and a means for sliding said ring member are fitted on said center shaft, whereby axial length of the apparatus can be reduced and its structure can be made compact. CONSTITUTION:In case 1, there are provided a center shaft 2 and a tubular shaft 3 fitted on the center shaft 2 and these two shafts are both arranged to be freely rotatable. One of these two shafts 2, 3 is used as input shaft and the other is used as output shaft. A freely slidable ring member 8 is fitted on the outside of center shaft 2 by means of spline 7, and a spring memeber 9 is also fitted on the center shaft 2 for urging the ring member 8 in one direction. In the mating surfaces of ring member 8 and tubular shaft 3 where they are held in contact with each other, there is provided a means 10 for retracting member 8 against the force of spring 9 so as to permit relative rotation of the above two shafts when a high transmission torque is acted between the two shafts 2, 3. With such an arrangement, in which input shaft and output shaft are arranged in an inner and outer double-shaft structure and ring member 8 and spring 9 on the center shaft 2 cooperate with each other by means of tubular shaft 3 and means 10, structure of the apparatus can be made compact.
