    • PURPOSE:To provide a spread spectrum demodulator capable of effectively utilizing the soft decision processing gain of an error correction decoder. CONSTITUTION:This demodulator is provided with an operation part 1 for finding out respective correlation values among a receiving signal in the m-th information sequence and k different diffusion codes in the m-th information sequence, an optimum code selecting part 2 for selecting a diffusion code having the maximum correlation with the receiving signal based upon these correlation values, a reverse diffusion part 3 for reversely diffusing the selected diffusion code to a code information in the n-th information sequence, and an information adding part 4 for adding a correlation value having the maximum correlation with the receiving signal to the reversely diffused code information. The demodulation is also provided with an operation part 5 for finding out respective correlation values among the receiving signal in the m-th information sequence and k diffusion signals in the m-th information sequence in each unit information of the n-th information sequence to be demodulated and an information selecting part 6 for selecting k correlation values having maximum correlation with k information elements in the unit information to be modulated based upon respective correlation values.

Phase numbers are assigned beforehand to all states which the output of the frequency conversion means 3a can obtain and a phase discrimination means 4 for outputting the corresponding phase number as the phase data of the reception signals of the frequency fIF to the delay detection part is provided.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten the time up to synchronization establishment stably by utilizing principles such that an inverse spread code (M series code) synchronously with an input signal is immediately obtained when the input signal fetched to a shift register as an initial value has no error and the signal '0' is subject to spread modulation. CONSTITUTION:An input signal is given to one data input of a selection means 10. A circuit means 12 is provided with a shift register 120 and fetches an input signal sequentially when the selection means 10 selects the input signal and an M series code generator in a path of the selection means 10 is formed when other input is selected and generates an inverse spread code (M series code) by using the fetched value as the initial value. A correlation verification means 14 calculates the degree of the correlation between the inverse spread code and the input signal. A control means 16 controls the selection means 10 to input an input signal into the circuit means 12 as an initial value and selects the selection means 10 to form the M series code generator with the circuit means 12, and selects the selection means again to set an initial value to the circuit means 12 when an output of the correlation verification means 14 represents that no correlation is present between the inverse spread code and the input signal.
