摘要： PURPOSE:To continuously produce a lower aliphatic hydrocarbon in a high yield by a fluidized bed system for catalytic cracking of a hydrocarbon composed mainly of specified medium paraffins in the presence of a specified catalyst. CONSTITUTION:When a lower aliphatic hydrocarbon composed mainly of a 3-4C paraffin is produced by catalytic cracking of either a 5-10C paraffin or a hydrocarbon composed mainly of these paraffins, a fluidized bed system is employed for catalytic cracking using a mordenite type zeolite as catalyst. By this technique, a 3-4C paraffin can be produced in a high yield. Since the catalyst deteriorated through coking can be taken out of the reaction system and regenerated without interrupting the cracking reaction, a consistent reaction product can be obtained continuously, so that the problem of the complicated cracking operation required in the prior art processes can be dissolved and the separation and purification steps can be simplified.

Use of a catalyst carrying these crystalline aluminosilicate zeolite and further 0.1-5.0wt.% phosphorus suppresses formation of coke and improves stability to high- temperature steam.
