If someone approaches and goes into the range below the threshold of approach distance or approaches at a speed greater than the threshold of approaching speed, an individual identification code extractor 14 outputs the corresponding individual identification code.

    • PURPOSE:To detect a real speed of a vehicle with high reliability by a method wherein a vehicle speed error based on the variation of a sound wave-propagation passage due to an air flow generated below the vehicle along the traveling thereof, variation of an emission/ reception angle and an emission/reception directivity, is corrected. CONSTITUTION:A reflection wave from a road face that is received by an ultrasonic wave receiver attached on a bottom face of a vehicle with a prescribed depression angle is amplified and only about 200+ or -50kHz of the signal is taken therefrom to be further amplified. After that, it is binarized to be inputted to a PLL circuit for frequency detection and the frequency of the reflection wave is detected thereby obtaining a vehicle speed. However, when the vehicle speed is grate, a propagation passage of the sound wave is varied due to an air flow along the traveling of the vehicle generated below the vehicle so that the detected speed is affected thereby and the output level is lowered by being affected by an emission/ reception directivity and an emission/reception angle corresponding to the vehicle speed. Therefore, a vehicle speed error based on the affection is predicted such that an actually measured vehicle speed V1, a real vehicle speed V0 and the relationship therebetween are stored in a memory to be associated with each other. The real vehicle speed V0 is selected from the actually measured vehicle speed V1, thereby obtaining the accurate real vehicle speed V1.

    • PURPOSE:To quickly detect a moving object by retarding the timing of switching from a first to second detection mode when an integral value obtained in the first detection mode exceeds a predetermined reference value. CONSTITUTION:A first and second detection modes are switched from one to the other according to a switching signal from a timer circuit 10.     • PURPOSE:To give an alarm display to a driver when vehicle speed is equal to or smaller than a specific value and to stop it when the vehicle speed exceeds the specific value and at the same time to calculate and display the traveling distance and the traveling direction of a vehicle by calculating the vehicle speed from the Doppler constituent of a reflection signal from an object or a road surface. CONSTITUTION:Ultrasonic detectors 11-14 which are provided at the corner part around a vehicle are controlled by a body circuit 2, transmit ultrasonic pulses according to the wave-transmission signal from the circuit 2, and then receive and amplify the reflection wave from an obstacle or a human body. The output is shaped into a pulse waveform by a comparator 4, is input to input terminals R1-R4 of a CPU 7, and is input to input terminals C1-C4 of the CPU 7 after the pulse wave is counted for 10 wavelengths. After ultrasonic pulses are output, the CPU 7 counts a time T1 until reflection wave pulses are input and then counts a time T2 for 10 wavelengths. When the vehicle speed which is calculated from the time T2 is equal to or less than approximately 10km/hour, an alarm display such as an obstacle and a human body is output. When it is equal to or more than approximately 10km, the display output is turned off and the traveling distance and traveling direction are calculated from the vehicle speed and are displayed.
