    • PURPOSE:To perform the A/D converting operation continuously by detecting immediately the abnormality of the saturation state of an integrating circuit due to sudden application of an excessive input voltage to discharge quickly an integrating capacitor. CONSTITUTION:If an expected excessive input voltage is applied, this abnormality is detected by a detecting circuit 13 to close a switch S3, and a resistance 10 is connected in parallel to an integrating resistance 5, and the switch S3 is opened when an output voltage V0 of the integrating circuit becomes zero. Consequently, if the unexpected excessive input voltage is applied to saturate the output voltage V0 of the integrating circuit, this abnormality is detected, and the switch S3 is closed to connect a reference voltage source 6 to a parallel resultant resistance of the integrating resistance 5 and the resistance 10, and an integrating capacitor 4 is discharged quickly to set the integrating circuit to the initial state. Thus, the next A/D converting operation is performed normally without delay continuously.
