摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly mount and fix a super-abrasive grain layer on a ceramics reinforced aluminum alloy pedestal wherein a matrix is formed by means of an intermetallic compound resulting from a reaction between aluminum and ceramics. SOLUTION: When a matrix is forced by means of an intermetallic compound, melting point of a ceramics reinforced aluminum alloy pedestal increases, whereby it is possible that an abrasive grain layer is directly mounted on the aluminum alloy pedestal, which was not realized previously. This makes it possible to obtain a lightweight super abrasive grain wheel which reduces a load of a spindle motor, has a high specific tensile strength, and enhances an adhesive strength between the pedestal and the abrasive grain layer.

The brake system, which exhibits an excellent characteristic in the case of either dry or wet braking condition, is obtained by combining the brake disk made from the aluminum base composite material like this with the brake disk pad contained Cu as the main constituent and, by wt., 4-20% Pb.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a composite material having excellent durability against a flying and colliding object at a low cost by impregnating a ceramic sintered body having a metal filler with a specified metal and then forming a hard plating film on the top and back surfaces of the body. SOLUTION: A metal filler such as steel having >10 aspect ratio and projections on the top end for hooking is mixed with a ceramic powder such as Al2 O3 and SiC by 90/10 to 30/70 of mixing ratio and the mixture is hot pressed in a reducing atmosphere such as hydrogen under conditions such as high temp. as 1,300 deg.C and 1 ton pressing force to produce a metal-contg. ceramic sintered preform. The preform is dipped in a molten Al alloy to obtain a composite body comprising the preform impregnate with the Al alloy as a metal matrix by 80/20 to 30/70. Then a hard plating layer such as Ni-P alloy is formed on both surfaces of the preform by an electroless plating method. Thus, the composite material having excellent fracture toughness or shock resistance against a flying and colliding object such as a metal material or stones can be produced at a low cost.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce lightweight engine parts for aircraft whose strength is increased and having high temp. heat resistance and oxidation resistance by subjecting the one obtd. by interposing SiC fiber layers between Ti-Al base alloy foils, furthermore arraying the fibers in a specified direction and laminating the same to HIP working and diffusedly joining the same. SOLUTION: Annular SiC fiber layers 2 in which SiC fibers 1 having about 140μm fiber diameter are finely arrayed in the circumferential direction and SiC fiber layers 2' finely arrayed in the radiate direction are laminated in such a manner that they are interposed between Ti-Al-Cr alloy sheets 4. This laminate is sealed into a can, which is applied with loads, and HIP diffused joining is executed. This is subjected to finish working to obtain engine parts for aircraft. This parts are subjected to fine crystallizing treatment to form into a Sic fiber reinforced composite material using Ti-Al-Cr alloys as a matrix and having about 2% indoor ductility as the forged material, by which it is excellent in high temp. heat resistance and oxidation resistance. The content Vf of the fibers is regulated to about 25 to 30% and the density to about 3.6g/m , and it is remarkably lightweight.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve heat resistance and wear resistance without impairing castability by casting a brake rotor by using a metal contg. ceramic particles as a reinforcing material, then forming the ceramic particles of the contact surface with a brake pad to a high density. SOLUTION: A base body 2 of the brake rotor is cast by using an aluminum alloy contg. ceramic particles of at least either of alumna or silicon carbide at the casting threshold or below. The contact surface 2A side of the base body 2 with the brake pad is irradiated with a laser beam 14 while an oxidizing atmosphere region E is formed by releasing oxygen form an air nozzle 145, by which the rotor surface is melted and oxidized down to a depth of about 3 to 5mm and the volumetric rate of the alumina of the molten part 8 is increased. The 2B side is similarly treated after the treatment of the 2A side and is finished by polishing to the rotor. The volumetric rate of the ceramics may be increased by spraying and fixing the ceramic particles on the treated surface, then melting the surface with the laser beam in place of melting in the oxidizing atmosphere.
