    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power-assisted bicycle having a theft-prevention function by interlocking a personal identification function with the startup of a power-assisted unit, even if the bicycle is automatically stopped due to the prolonged temporary stopping time. SOLUTION: This power-assisted bicycle, in which the power-assisted unit 30 is started when a lock device 20 is unlocked, is constituted to restart the power-assisted unit 30 when driving torque is detected again and an authorized ID signal transmitted from a radio transmitter carried by an occupant is received after the power-assisted unit 30 is automatically stopped due to a lapse of predetermined time without detecting any driving torque. Even if the power-assisted unit 30 is automatically stopped due to the temporary stop for the predetermined time, the power-assisted unit 30 is restarted only by the depressing of a pedal when the occupant has the radio transmitter 10 (a portable key or the like) for transmitting an authorized unlocking signal all the time, thereby enabling the power-assisted bicycle to be simply and lively restarted without the troublesome startup operations on the power-assisted unit 30. When a battery in a main power supply 15 of the electronic key 2 is exhausted, the electronic key 2 is closely attached to the transmission antenna 21 through the window glass to charge the auxiliary secondary battery 19 with the power radio wave Sv transmitted from the transmission antenna 21. The electronic key 2 thus becomes operational with the auxiliary secondary battery 19 as power supply, so that usual wireless ID collation can be continuously executable.
