摘要： A digital broadcast transmitting/receiving system and a signal processing method thereof that can improve the receiving performance of the system. A digital broadcast transmitter has a randomizer to randomize an input data stream which has null bytes being inserted at a specified position, a multiplexer to output a data stream formed by inserting specified known data into the position of the null bytes of the randomized data stream, an encoder to encode the data stream outputted from the multiplexer, and a modulator/RF-converter to modulate the encoded data, RF-convert the modulated data and transmit the RF-converted data. The receiving performance of the digital broadcast transmitting/receiving system can be improved even in a multi-path channel by detecting the known data from the received signal and using the known data in synchronization and equalization in a digital broadcast receiver.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus capable of performing demodulation and decoding of video signals coded in different standard formats in the field of digital signal processing.SOLUTION: An adaptive receiver includes an adaptive decoder 12 for providing decoded output data from a video signal encoded for satellite, terrestrial or cable transmission. The apparatus includes adaptive decoders 50 and 60 for providing a first decoded output as a function of a code rate selected from a plurality of code rates. The apparatus also includes adaptive deinterleavers 80, 85, and 90 for deinterleaving the first decoded output in accordance with a deinterleaving function selected from a plurality of deinterleaving functions. In addition, the apparatus includes an output signal processor 125 for processing the deinterleaved output data to provide the decoded output data. A demodulator includes an adaptive error decoder 110 for detecting and correcting errors in the deinterleaved output.

摘要： A transmission method of a digital broadcast which is compatible with the DVB-T terrestrial digital broadcast system in Europe and saves a battery in a mobile terminal is provided. Superframes in DVB-T are divided into units each including plural symbols so that an integer number of TS packets can be carried in each slot. At least one slot is used to transmit one service. Energy dispersion, Reed-Solomon coding, byte interleaving, convolutional coding, and time interleaving are applied to each service. When services for mobile terminal reception and services for fixed terminals are transmitted as the provided services, null packets may be transmitted before and after the slot carrying the mobile receiver service so that the fixed reception service and the mobile reception services are not mixed. If the fixed terminal handles TS packets of the mobile reception service as error packets, it could have no problem in reception.
