    • PURPOSE:To prevent the reception of the effect of the trap in a charge transport layer by applying an electric field having specific intensity to a lamination type sample consisting of a charge forming layer and a charge transport layer and also irradiating said sample with light. CONSTITUTION:The sample to which an electric field having predetermined intensity is applied from a high voltage pulse generator 3 by a high voltage pulse is irradiated with the light pulse 4 from a light source 5 excited by the light trigger from a timing controller 6. The transient photocurrent generated by said light pulse 4 and attenuated with the elapse of time is amplified by an amplifier 7 and the waveform thereof is recorded on a recorder 8 and also analyzed by a computer 9. A series of these measurements are performed while the intensity of an electric field is changed and the waveforms of the respective photocurrents obtained at that time are recorded and also analyzed and the initial value of a photocurrent obtained when an electric field having intensity sufficient to saturate the carrier forming efficiency of a charge forming layer or more is applied is measured to make it possible to calculate carrier injection efficiency.

    • PURPOSE:To allow rapid reading out with high accuracy and to easily form the recording medium by forming the recording medium of an org. thin film contg. a required org. conductive material and executing writing and reading out by impressing an electric field to the medium. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium is formed of the org. thin film contg. the org. conductive material having spontaneous bipoles, such as hydrazone deriv. The molecular orientation of the org. conductive material is changed by the force to allow the spontaneous bipoles to orient in an electric field direction and the information writing is executed when the electric field is impressed to the medium. This information does not depend on the detection of a slight tunnel current and the detection of a change in capacity which takes time as the current generated by the impression of the electric field to the recording medium and, therefore, the rapid and accurate reading out is executed; in addition, the need for the orientation treatment in the same direction, etc., is eliminated and the formation of the recording medium is facilitated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce information of a three-dimensional optical recording medium at a high speed by controlling a focal position of reproducing light with which an optical recording medium is irradiated by a light source and which is condensed in a condensing part in accordance with the distribution of light intensity of output light detected in a light detecting part. SOLUTION: A focus of reproducing light 33 with which refractive index modulation recording marks 39 are irradiated is controlled so that the distribution of light intensity of the output light 36 always becomes a fixed shape, preferably exists in a position forming a ring. The focal position of the reproducing light 33 is slightly adjusted in order that the fixed shape is formed by the distribution of light intensity of the output light 36 of the reproducing light 33 with which the refractive index modulation recording marks 39 having different depths are irradiated. A moving distance of a lens 35 required for forming the fixed shape by the distribution of light intensity is calculated in a control part 40 based on the distribution of light intensity of the output light 36 detected by a photodetector 37, and the focal position is controlled by instructing a lens moving mechanism to move the lens 35 when the movement of the lens 35 is required.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form transparent patterns and to read information in a high S/N ratio by using a polymer having a cyanic group or a carbonyl group or material containing a low molecular weight compound. SOLUTION: Patterns 2 containing an infrared absorber having a cyanic group are formed on a substrate 1. The pattern areas of the substrate 1 are irradiated with infrared light from an infrared lamp 11 through a filter 13. When the filter 13 making infrared light with 4 to 5 μm wavelength transmit is used, the patterns 2 containing the infrared absorber having a cyanic group are heated preferentially and the substrate 1 is not heated so much. The patterns can be detected by such a manner that the substrate 1 is carried and that an infrared detector 12 detects infrared light emitted from the patterns 2 after the elapse of as much as time that allows sufficient temperature difference to occur between the patterns 2 and the substrate 1. Thus, it is possible to suppress the generation of erroneous reading of code information due to overlapping on an already described character.
