    • PURPOSE:To cure a magnetic paint film in an extremely short period without application of heat to magnetic powder in the stage of curing and to obtain the magnetic paint film having high strength by using a resin curable by electron rays as a resin binder to constitute the magnetic layer of a magnetic disk. CONSTITUTION:An epoxy acrylate or epoxy methacrylate is used for the binder of the magnetic disk constituted by forming the magnetic layer consisting essentially of the magnetic powder and binder on a substrate and the magnetic layer is cured by electron rays. The resin curable by electron rays to be used here has preferably a low viscosity to permit the satisfactory coaitng of a magnetic paint and is preferably hard in the stage of curing. Such resin curable by electron rays is exemplified by the resins expressed by the formula (1), (2) and (3) and the mol.wt. of the epoxy acrylate or epoxy methacrylate is preferably 500-5,000. A multifunctional acrylate (about bi- - hexafunctional) may be used as a hardener in combination with such epoxy acrylate or epoxy methacrylate.

      CONSTITUTION: The primer coating layer contg. the emulsion of a styrene/butadiene copolymer having ≥60% gel molar fraction and others as well as the pulverous conductive powder such as carbon black and pulverous metallic powder of Ag, Ti, Cu, Sn, etc. is formed on the non-magnetic substrate consisting of plastic, etc. and a magnetic paint consisting essentially of magnetic powder and binder is coated thereon to form the magnetic coated film. The electrification of the magnetic layer is thus prevented without spoiling the electromagnetic conversion characteristic.
