摘要： PURPOSE: To treat exhaust gas containing an offensive odor component stably and at low costs. CONSTITUTION: A microorganism fixing carrier 2 is set in a biological deodorization column 1. A water spray 3 is installed at an upper position of the carrier 2 in the column 1 to water the carrier 2, and a sprayed water tank 15 is installed below the carrier 2 to store sprayed water. A concentration sensor 6 for an offensive odor component is installed in the tank 15. The concentration of the offensive odor component in water stored in the tank 15 is measured by the sensor 6. When the concentration exceeds a standard value, a drain valve 11 is opened to discharge water in the tank 15, and a valve 12 is opened to receive purified water.

CONSTITUTION:An active sludge for treating sewage and industrial waste water is introduced into an aeration tank. The domestification and multiplication of sulfur oxidizing bacteria is accelerated by supplying the waste water contg. a reducing sulfur compound and the waste water contg. organic compounds or organic substances into the aeration tank, with the aeration tank kept in the pH range of 4.0-7.5 and while adjusting ORP to the value obtained by calculation from the free energy variation DELTAG0 taking place when the reducing sulfur compound is chemically oxidized into a sulfuric acid compound. The waste water contg. the reducing sulfur compound is thereafter treated with the sulfur oxidizing bacteria. The aforesaid methods effect the domestication and multiplication of the sulfur oxidizing bacteria in a short period of time and obviate the need for a complicated treatment such as pH adjustment of the waste water and for the provisions of acid resistance to the waste water treating equipment, leading to a conderable reduction in the construction costs of the waste water treating facilities and in the treating costs.

摘要： PURPOSE:To culture and propagate sulfur oxidizing bacteria within a short time and lower the treatment facility and treatment cost by combining calcium, regarding a fixing carrier of sulfur oxidizing bacteria for a fixed bed type bioreactor for waste water treatment using sulfur oxidizing bacteria. CONSTITUTION:To prepare a fixing carrier suitable for sulfur oxidizing bacteria to be used for a fixed bed type bioreactor 8, a calcium compound is added to a part of raw materials of the fixing carrier. Consequently, sulfuric acid produced by oxidation of a reductive sulfur compound by sulfur oxidizing bacteria and the combined calcium compound react and thus fine particles of gypsum are formed on the surface of the fixing carrier. The sulfur oxidizing bacteria adhere to the gypsum and are fixed and thus the bacteria are suppressed from lowing out to the treating water from the bioreactor 8. As a result, the sulfur oxidizing bacteria of the bioreactor 8 are kept at high concentration and treatment of waste water containing reductive sulfur compounds can be carried out highly efficiently and the quality of the treating water is improved.

The sulfur oxidation bacteria can be efficiently domesticated and grown thereby.

An aeration zone exclusively used for the malodorous gas is provided close to the outlet side of the aeration tank, and only the malodorous gas is aerated in the zone. By this method, the equipment and running costs are reduced, maintenance is facilitated, and energy is saved.
