    • PURPOSE:To reduce gas bubble involving inclusion, etc., into descending system by acting thrust force in drawing direction with an electromagnetic stirring device arranged at inside wide face or outside wide face in a mold for slab in the range except the prescribed length toward center from narrow face in the mold. CONSTITUTION:The electromagnetic stirring device 2 generating the thrust in the drawing direction of slab S arranged at the inside wide face of bending arc of the mold M for slab in a bending type continuous casting machine or in addition to the electromagnetic stirring device 2, further, electromagnetic stirring device 2' generating the thrust in the drawing direction of slab S arranged at the outside wide face 1' of the bending arc, are used. At the same time, the thrust in the drawing direction given to the molten steel 5 with these electromagnetic devices 2, 2', is practically acted in the range except the prescribed length L toward the center from side ends 4 at right and left sides of the cast wide face 3. In this result, the molten steel stream 6 is induced in the molten steel 5 and discharging flow velocity of the molten steel stream 9 discharged toward the narrow face direction from the discharging hole 8 in a submerged nozzle 7, is reduced and entering depth of the molten steel stream 10 entered into the slab S is restrained to prevent invasion of the bubble into inner part of the slab.

    • PURPOSE:To easily, accurately and continuously measure temp. of a cast slab by directly inserting a thermocouple into molten metal in a mold from upper part as cast-in and after that, sending out and supplying a compensating lead wire connected with the thermocouple in accordance with drawing speed of the cast slab. CONSTITUTION:The molten steel 3 is continuously cast into the bending type mold 1, and solidified shell 4 is drawn through guide rolls 6, to obtain the cast slab 5. In the above continuous casting equipment, the thermocouple 8 of Pt-PtRh, etc., is directly inserted into the molten steel 3 in a mold 1 through flux 7 from the upper part. This thermocouple 8, which heat resistant treatment is executed by high melting point metal of W, etc., is used, and brought into contact with solidified shell 4 and stuck. By this method, the thermocouple 8 is made to cast-in together with the molten steel 3 under solidified process. After that, the compensating lead wire 9, in which the heat resistant treatment as the same way as the above, is continuously sent out and supplied from a reel 10 in accordance with the drawing speed of the cast slab. By this method, variation of the temp. of solidified shell 4 in the cast slab is accurately and continuously measured over a secondary cooling zone from the mold 1, to stabilize the operation.

    • PURPOSE: To rapidly perform accurate judgement, by applying a step cutting test to a rough bar cut as a crop.
      CONSTITUTION: Each of the front and rear end edge parts of an aluminum killed steel plate is generally curved so as to form such a configuration that the intermediate part thereof in the lateral direction is curved in to the intermediate part side in the longitudinal direction. Therefore, the front and rear end parts of the aluminum killed steel plate are cut as crops after the completion of rough rolling. Macro-streak-flow investigation by step cutting is conducted on the rough bars cut as the crops and the grade of a final cold rolled product is judged on the basis of this investigation. Therefore, rapid and accurate judgement can be performed at the stage when rough rolling was finished.
