    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for efficiently treating sludge in a short time by means of an anaerobic digester. SOLUTION: In the digesting treatment of the sludge with anaerobic microorganisms, a part of the sludge 40 to be treated is solubilized by acid 47 of a predetermined equivalent, the remaining part of the sludge 40 to be treated is solubilized by alkali 48 of the equivalent which neutralizes the acid 47, the sludge solubilized by acid 47 and the sludge solubilized by alkali 48 are mixed. Salt concentration in the mixed sludge 44 is adjusted so as to be within the active range of the anaerobic microorganisms and, thereby, the sludge 44 is digested. Preferably, by diluting the sludge with water at the time of mixing the sludge solubilized by the acid 47 and the sludge solubilized by the alkali 48, the salt concentration in the mixed sludge 44 is made to be within the active range of the anaerobic microorganisms. More preferably, the sludge 40 to be treated is dehydrated before the solubilization with the acid 47 and the alkali 48.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the air supplying/moisture keeping method of simple constitution capable of execution at a low cost for a biological deodorization device. SOLUTION: In a device for passing through malodorous gas to a peat layer 7 upwards and deodorizing it, a malodorous gas supply pipe 3 for which plural blow-off holes 4 are pierced on the peripheral wall of the pipe in a columnar shape parallel to a center axial line is fitted to the bottom part of the peat layer 7 while turning the blow-off holes 4 upwards. Water is supplied from a water replenishing tank 8 to a part lower than the blow-off holes 4 at the bottom part of the peat layer 7 and the part is kept in a water infiltration state. Corresponding to the flow of the malodorous gas sent out upwards from the blow-off holes 4, moisture is evaporated from the water infiltration part, the malodorous gas is turned to saturation humidity, the part adjacent to the blow-off holes 4 of the peat layer 7 is turned to a humidity saturation area and the drying of the upper part is prevented. By the flow of the malodorous gas of high humidity, appropriate moisture is kept over the entire peat layer 7 and an effective deodorization function is secured. Preferably, the gas supply pipe 3 is turned to a straight pipe whose one end is closed and the malodorous gas is supplied from an open end.

    • PURPOSE: To simply and efficiently treat to decompose an oil containing waste water in a biological reactor by floating a porous granular upwoven fabric carrier on the liquid surface in a methane fermentation tank or an activated sludge tank at the time of decomposing oils and fats in the waste water by feeding the oil containing waste water to the vessel. CONSTITUTION: The unwoven fabric carrier 8 on which an anaerobic oils and fats decomposing bacterium or an aerobic oils and fats decomposing bacterium is immobilized is fed to the activated sludge tank 17 so as to reach a quantity capable of covering the surface of a fermentation liquid by two layers. The waste water is introduced into the activated sludge tank 17 from a raw water tank 18 by using a pump 19 and is treated at 30 deg.C by controlling the residence time of the waste water to about 10hr while feeding air from an aeration blower 2 to an air diffusing pipe 20 in the tank. The treated water is discharged through a discharge line 22. The unwoven fabric carrier 8 is formed by sticking a porous sheet composed of a glass fiber or a plastic fiber to the outside of a particle body of a lightweight plastic (preferably a granular body having 5-6mm diameter).
