    • PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic disc excellent in the sliding proof characteristic and the magnetic characteristic by imbedding a reinforcement member to an aluminum base with a surface plate turned while the aluminum base is processed with the surface plate so as to form a magnetic film to the aluminum base. CONSTITUTION:After an aluminum base 1 is arranged between upper and lower surface plates 7 with polishing cloth 6 adhered thereto via a deflection carrier 8, the aluminum base 1 is pressed and then the upper/lower surface plates 7 are turned while a solution including the reinforcing material 3 is supplied continuously from a solution supply pipe 10. The reinforcing material 3 is imbedded to the surface of the aluminum base 1 in this way. After the surface of the aluminum base 1 is rinsed, a magnetic paint 4 is coated. A magnetic disc is obtained by polishing and finishing the magnetic coating film to reach a prescribed thickness finally. Thus, the reinforcing material is fixed solidly and aggregation of the reinforcement, aggregation of magnetic powder around the reinforcement member are prevented, then the magnetic disc excellent in the sliding proof characteristic and magnetic characteristic is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a crack at the lower cover of a pack case by arranging a cushion which is interposed between a hub and the lower cover at the outer circumference of the hub 12, and always separating the lower cover from the hub inside of the cushion. CONSTITUTION:The cushion 6 is fitted to the lower cover 2 at the outer circumference part of the hub 12. The lower cover 2 and hub 12 are always separated inside of the cushion 6. When a fitting screw 3 is clamped, the inside part of the lower cover 2 is lifted by the fitting screw 3 to curve upward. The lower cover 2, however, does not engage the hub 12 inside of the cushion 6, so the lower cover 2 deforms about a part 2b distant from its internal end as a fulcrum. Therefore, the stress applied to the lower cover 2 is dispersed over a wide range and cracking 18 becomes hard to occur. The maximum stress of the lower cover 2 is suppressed within a permissible range by allowing the upper end of the screw part 3b of the fitting screw 3 to abut on the lower end of a sleeve.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to assemble a single track type monolithic core magnetic head easily with high precision and also to eliminate the attenuation of a signal, by providing C type cores made of nonmagnetic materials so that the dummy gap and recording and reproducing gap will be aligned. CONSTITUTION:As for the magnetic head for magnetic disks, center core 2' among C type cores 2, 2' and 2' of the recording and reproducing head is dummy and has track width W2. While recording and reproducing gap G and dummy gaps DG form a straight line, cores 2 and 2' are bonded with glass at mating surface A of core block 3. Cores 2' are made of nonmagnetic ferrite, ceramics, etc. Angle error (alpha) between reference surface 7 and the gap surface is measured by using track width W2 of core 2 conventionally, but this invention improves the measurement precision greatly by (W4/W2) times by using width W4 of mating surface A for the measurement. Therefore, the attenuation of a signal due to angle error (alpha) can be reduced greatly.
