摘要： PURPOSE:To stabilize properties using a buffer layer with high adhesion strength and obtain an EL device with high luminance by forming a SiC layer between an insulating oxide layer and a light emitting layer. CONSTITUTION:A device is formed on a quartz substrate 7: a transparent electrode 6, insulating layers 5, 2, and a red-emitting layer 4 are formed and SiC layer as buffer layers 3 are formed between the red-emitting layer and the insulating layers 5, 2. The SiC, as same as Si3N4, works as an oxide diffusion preventing layer and its adhesion strength is higher than that of Si3N4 and therefore the SiC is hard to be peeled off. SiC is more durable for treatment at high temperature than Si3N4 and its adhesion strength is further improved using SiO2 as an insulating oxide layer adjacent to the SiC. In this way, oxide diffusion from the oxide insulating layers 2, 5 to the light-emitting layer 4 is prevented and properties of the light-emitting layer 4 are improved and thus luminance is heightened.

摘要： PURPOSE:To stably hold and rotate a recording disk at a low temp. by magnetically levitating the recording medium, holding it in superfluidity of He and rotating it by changing magnetic fields from the outside. CONSTITUTION:Liquid He can easily be turned into the superfluid state at a temp. lowered below 2.2k by vaporization through decompression with a pump, etc. Since the superfluid He has no viscosity, the rotation of the disk is not obstructed, and it is hard to generate heat. A hole burning recording disk can be accessed at high speed in keeping it stably at a fixed low temp. by holding the recording disk at the levitated state in this superfluid He. An upper part of a disk levitating superfluid He container 1 is transparent to make a data accessing light beam pass through. The disk 3 is levitated in He by such Meissner's effect that magnetic flux due to a magnet 8 is repulsed by a superconducting material 6 attached to the disk, and the disk 3 can be rotated by inducing the magnetic fields of stationary magnet 5 at a disk edge part and an external electromagnet 7 successively.

摘要： PURPOSE:To stabilize the light emitting characteristics by using carbides of transit metal as an insulative layer substance to be contacting the light emitting layer. CONSTITUTION:A lower clear electrode 2 is formed on a glass board 1 to undergo photo-etching in stripes, and thereover No.1 insulative layer 3 is formed by means of sputtering. Then a film 6 of carbides of transit metal is formed by sputtering method, and thereover a light emitting layer 4 is formed followed by forming of another film 6 of carbides of transit metal and also a No.2 insulative layer 3, and finally an upper electrode 5 is formed. Therein the carbides of transit metal are hard to oxidate and the oxygen diffusion coefficient is small, so that use of these carbides to the insulative layer 6 in contact with the light emitting layer 4 can prevent dispersion of oxygen into the light emitting layer 4 from the atmosphere or the insulative layer 3 substance containing oxygen. Thereby the light emitting characteristics can be stabilized.

CONSTITUTION:At the time of evaporating a luminous layer material by an electron beam, charge power for heating the material is increased. That is to say, by raising a temperature of an evaporation source and increasing kinetic energy of vaporizing particles, a mobility of particles on the arrived substrate is increased so that a film is given excellent crystallinity so as to facilitate an activator such as Eu and Ce to occupy a favorable position (a Ca site of CaS, an Sr site of SrS) inside the parent crystal. In this case, cathode luminescence intensity of the luminous layer shall be not less than 50% of the cathode luminescence intensity of a powder phosphor of the same composition with the material composing the luminous layer. Thereby, brightness can be improved even under 500 deg.C of the substrate temperature.

摘要： PURPOSE:To enhance membrane properties of breakdown electric field strength and thermal breakdown by changing the mixing ratio of membrane materials at a specific cycle along the direction of membrane thickness. CONSTITUTION:Material A is a material with low breakdown voltage, characterized in a high dielectric constant and propagation-type breakdown; material B is a material with high breakdown voltage, characterized in a low dielectric constant and self- repairing-type breakdown. The region (layer) containing a larger proportion of the material A has a feature of propagation-type breakdown. By making this region sufficiently thin and putting the resultant thin layer between the regions containing a larger proportion of the material B, the layer produced has a breakdown mode of self-repairing type. Then, the mixing ratio of the materials A and B is changed at a cycle of 5-300Angstrom along the direction of the membrane thickness. The application of the present means, the modulation mixing, to two or more materials, can yield an effect under the same concept as that obtained by the modulation mixing between propagation-type breakdown and self-repairing-type breakdown materials, so that thermal stability and breakdown electric field strength of the resultant membrane can increase.

CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode 2, the first insulating layer 3, a luminous layer 4, the second insulating layer 5, and a back electrode 6 are provided in sequence on a glass substrate 1 to form a thin film EL element, and luminescence is generated by applying the alternating electric field between the electrodes 2 and 6. Films mixed with TiO2 25, 50, 65, 85mol% to SiO2 are used as the insulating films 3 and 5, the thickness of the insulating layers is changed for each composition, and the element is formed so that luminescence is started at the range of 250V+ or -10V for each element. The drive margin which is the difference between the luminescence start voltage and the element breakdown voltage can be thereby increased, and a stable thin film device can be formed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a device which requires writing operation by using a superconductive material on the way of an optical path. CONSTITUTION:Incident light 5 is passed through a superconductive material thin film 3 to obtain transmitted light (output light) 6. Then superconduction- normal conduction transition is obtained by turning on and off a current supplied to the superconductive material thin film 3 and the spectrum of the transmitted light 6 is varied by this normal conduction/superconduction transition. Further, light which is inputted from a light source 7 is changed in two ways by an array 8 of superconductive materials which are arrayed finely in a line. Those two kinds of output light are used to vary the charge conductivity on the surface of a photosensitive drum 9 to control whether or not toner is stuck. Consequently, the ON/OFF reaction speed of the switch array is increased and the structure is simplified.
