摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a compact and light-weight unit that can be charged through a household power supply. CONSTITUTION:A first drive winding 5 for the first electric rotating machine 3 for the first drive mechanism 2 and the second drive winding 11 for the second electric rotating machine 9 for the second drive mechanism 8 are installed in a stator. The rotor of the first electric rotating machine 3 and the rotor of the second electric rotating machine 9 are fixed to a rotary shaft 19. The second electric rotating machine 9 is driven with a battery 17. The second controller 12, which rotates the second electric rotating machine 9 with a charging power supply 18, is connected to the second drive winding 11. The second controller 12 is provided with a mechanism 14 to switch between the battery 17 and power supply 18. A rotating machine drive unit 1 has the first controller 6 connected between the battery 17 and the first rotating machine 3. The battery 17 drives the first rotating machine 3, which is controlled by the first controller 6 to work as a generator to charge the battery 17. The unit 1 is mounted on an electric vehicle as a power to drive the wheels.

CONSTITUTION:U-phase coils Ua-Ud are, for example, wound and shaped in a wave shape. The coil Ua is inserted into slots 14, 23, the coil Ub is inserted into slots 13, 24, the coil Uc is inserted into slots 1, 12, and the coil Ud is inserted into slots 2, 11. The coil groups Ua-Ud are formed in structures having no coil end of parts corresponding to an N-pole and an S-pole. A maximum coil pitch of the groups Ua-Ud is set to {Ns/P+(q-1)} at the intervals of the slots, and a minimum coil pitch is set to {Ns/P-(q-1)} at the adjacent pole of the poles at the maximum coil pitch at the intervals of the slots. Ns is the number of the slots, P is the number of the poles, and q is the number of the slots at each pole and each phase. Thus, a three-phase motor can be reduced in size and weight.
