摘要： PURPOSE:To use both merit of continuous melting furnace and merit of batch type melting furnace, by stretching an outlet of a crucible to the outside of furnace, making electrodes at the outlet, laying a temperature control board between the electrodes and setting an opening and shutting cover at the tip of the outlet. CONSTITUTION:An opening and shutting cover 8 at the tip of an outlet 2a is closed, glass material is fed from a feed opening 2b to a crucible 2 and the glass material is melted by a heater 9. A temperature control board 7 is switched on, the temperature of the outlet 2a is raised through electrodes 3 and 4 and the glass material in the outlet 2a is heated and melted. Successively the opening and shutting cover 8 is rotated and molten glass 10 in the crucible 2 is continuously discharged from the outlet 2a. By this mechanism, only a necessary amount of molten glass can be taken out and the taking out and suspension can be rapidly carried out.
