    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate adhesion necessary between a wheel of a traveling rolling stock and a rail by switching a traveling course of a rolling stock from a first track to a second track by means of a course switching device for giving surface roughness to the tread face of a wheel in a wheel machining part. SOLUTION: A determination unit 12 computes a surface condition of a wheel in a railway rolling stock traveling on a traveling rail 1 on the basis of a detection result given from a first detection unit 10 and a second detection unit 11 so as to determine whether adhesion necessary between the wheel and the rail can be secured or not under the present wheel surface condition as against a weather condition. If it is determined that necessary adhesion cannot be secured, a lead rail 14 is moved so as to guide the railway rolling stock to a second track (wheel machining rail 2), while the railway rolling stock is guided to a first track (traveling rail 1) if it is determined that necessary adhesion can be secured. The railway rolling stock guided to the second track travels on the second track at a low speed. Consequently, an uneven shape of the first rough face in the wheel machining rail 2 is transferred to the tread face of the wheel and surface roughness is provided on the tread face of the wheel.

    • PURPOSE: To restrain the rolling of a vehicle for enhancing riding comfortableness by using the wheel edge as the wheel tread when the vehicle is traveling a straight railroad, and by using the wheel tread when traveling a curved railroad, and by constituting the rails out of straight traveling rails, curved traveling rails, and joint rails. CONSTITUTION: A wheel 1 is provided with a wheel tread 1a that rolls on a curved traveling rail 4 at the time of traveling on a curved rail, and a wheel edge 1b whose other circumference has been cut and flattened as the tread surface for rolling on a straight traveling rail 3 at the time of traveling on a straight rail. The rail 3 for a straight traveling is provided with a projected edge 3a on its inside upper part for preventing derailment. In the respective rails 3 and 4, the span L2 between the second rails 4 and 4 is made larger than the span L1 between the first rails 3 and 3 as much as the value equivalent to the thickness of the wheel edge 1b of the wheel 1. Between both rails 3 and 4, joint rails 5 having a shape in which the axial sectional shapes of both rails 3, 4 have been incorporated are laid down extending over a prescribed distance.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the frequent generation of sliding and idle rolling by continuously operating an adhesion-increasing abrasive element during the power running or brake application in the low adhesion state such as in rainfall, while executing the intermittent operation during coasting, in a device for increasing the adhesive force between a rail and a wheel. CONSTITUTION:An adhesion increasing device for a railway rolling stock properly increases the adhesive force between a rail and a wheel. In this case, if no rainfall signal according to the rainfall condition A is inputted, the polishing element operation C is executed only in the case where an idle rolling and sliding signal according to the idle rolling and sliding condition B is inputted. When the rainfall signal is inputted, and the power running.brake signal according to the power running.brake condition D is not inputted, the polishing element intermittent operation F is executed in consideration of the coasting condition E, and the adhesion increasing effect in the next brake signal input is expected by the residual effect of the wheel tread surface activation. When the power running signal or brake is applied together with the rainfall signal, the abrasive element operation C is executed as in the conventional.
