    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently separate and recover metal by separating molding sands, in which a resin film is burned, and molding sands, in which a resin film is not burned, by different methods.
      SOLUTION: In charged molding sands, the molding sands, in which the resin film is burned, are adsorbed on a positive electrode rotary drum 3, so as to be separated, and metal in the molding sands is sucked and recovered by a metal separation means 5 of the negative electrode arranged separately from the positive electrode rotary drum 3 at fixed intervals. Besides, the molding sands, in which the resin film is not burned, are adsorbed on a negative electrode rotary drum 4 connected with the positive electrode rotary drum 3, so as to be separated, and metal in the molding sands is sucked and recovered by a metal separation means 6 of the positive electrode arranged separately from the negative electrode rotary drum 4 at fixed intervals.

      SOLUTION: This method for pretreating self-hardening molding sand for regeneration includes the steps of: grinding the recovered sand containing self- hardening molding sand debris into small lumps; removing iron pieces from the ground recovered sand; separating the recovered sand with the iron pieces removed therefrom into self-hardening molding sand and lump-shaped self- hardening molding sand debris; further grinding the separated lump-shaped self-hardening molding sand debris into single-particle self-hardening molding sand; and supplying the ground self-hardening molding sand and single-particle self-hardening molding sand into a regeneration apparatus.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for utilizing regenerated molding sand which attains cost reduction and environment protection by re-utilizing the sand removed by shot-blasting.
      SOLUTION: In the method for regenerating the molding sand after shaking out a casting from a mold, the sand S removed from the casting A by the shot-blasting 1 is introduced into a magnetic separator 4 and the sand having the magnetic component removed by this magnetic separator 4 is recovered into a sand recovering part 5 and utilized as the regenerated sand S1 while the magnetic component is recovered into a magnetic component recovering part 6. To the above regenerating process, a fine powder removing process for removing the fine powder from the regenerated sand S1 is added. The above regenerated sand S1 and green sand are mixed at a prescribed ratio and the resultant mixture is utilized as the sand for forming the mold.
