In the second process, the first tapered part 23 is deformed into a second tapered part 33 having the tapered angle B by using a second forming die 62 provided with a tapered seat surface 68 having the tapered angle B larger than the tapered angle A in a stepped inner hole 65. In the third process, the second tapered part 33 is deformed into a third tapered part 43 having the tapered angle C by using a third forming die 63 provided with a tapered seat surface 69 having the tapered angle C smaller than the tapered angle B in a stepped inner hole 66, and a third punch member 73 having the outer diameter at the front end part 73b smaller than the outer diameter of a small diameter leg part in a second member 30 to be worked.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a welding chip which is excellent in wear resistance and productivity by coupling a plurality of split parts with each other which are provided with a holding part on one end and split in the passing direction of a welding wire around an inside hole to pass the welding wire to form a hole which is small in diameter, long in energization length, free from any bend, and smooth in surface. SOLUTION: An upper stock is cut out of a parts 13 obtained by pressing an upper chip stock into a semi-circular shape, and formed into a parts 14, and then formed into a parts 15 through the external trimming and stamping. An upper side chip 16 is formed by grooving the inside diameter of the upper chip in the parts 15, and pressing projecting and recessed parts for tightening. Similarly, a lower side chip 20 is formed. The upper side and the lower side chips 16, 20 are combined with each other to form an integrated welding chip 21. A welding chip 22 is formed through the smoothing of a contact surface, and a slight cutting such as round R-machining of a tip part, and a screw of a holding part to be coupled with a welding torch is form-rolled to finish a welding chip 23. Chips are manufactured with excellent productivity by employing many pressing works.

SOLUTION: In a forging method in which a disk-like stock 34' is forged or extruded to form a stepped annular member 43 where a large diameter cylindrical part 35 is concentrically connected to a small diameter cylindrical part 38 through a connection part 42, a recessed part 35A of the diameter slightly smaller than the inside diameter of a large diameter part of a product is formed on one surface side of the disk-like stock, and a cup-like stock 37 having a projecting part 36 is formed on the other surface side, a small diameter cylindrical part side of a stepped annular member is formed by the forward extrusion so that a die and a punch are not relatively moved to each other in the projecting part, an inner surface of the recessed part is ironed or extruded by the forward extrusion method to form the inside diameter of the recessed part to be the same as that of a large diameter part of the product, and a bottom plate part 38 on the inside diameter side of the small diameter cylindrical part is punched to communicate the recessed ports of the large diameter cylindrical part 35 and the small diameter cylindrical part. communicate the recessed part of the large diameter cylindrical part 35 with that of the small diameter cylindrical part 38.
