    • PURPOSE:To provide the forming mold exchange mechanism of the press forming device which can efficiently and smoothly execute the exchange operation of the forming molds between a forming chamber and a mold exchange chamber by successively connecting the latter chamber to the former chamber. CONSTITUTION:The press forming device has the forming mold exchange mechanism which is so constituted as to feed the forming mold (1) to a press forming position corresponding to a press operating mechanism (2) and to eject the mold therefrom. The mold exchange chamber (12) is successively provided via a gate valve (13) in the forming chamber (3) of the prescribed atmosphere where the above-mentioned press operating mechanism (2) is installed. An alternating means (701) which alternates a pallet (5) for imposing and fixing the forming mold (1) between both chambers along guide rails (6A, 6B) and a pallet substituting means (711) which substitute the new and old pallets to the alternating position of the pallet (5) by the above-mentioned alternating means (701) within the above-mentioned mold exchange chamber (12) are provided in the mold exchange chamber (12).

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a material for forming die glass having superior parting characteristic for glass by forming a uniform parting layer for glass on the whole surface of a metallic forming die.
      CONSTITUTION: A uniform parting layer for glass is formed on the whole surface of a metallic forming die such as Ni, then softened glass by heating is formed by press-contacting the softened glass closely to the forming die material. Thus, a forming die material which is striped easily from a formed product is obtd. The above-described parting layer is preped. by heat-treating the metallic forming die together with carbon powder to form a carbide layer, then cooling slowly, thus forming a layer wherein fine free carbon or carbide is present on the surface of said forming die in the form of a single substance or a compound body.

    • PURPOSE: The titled device preventing occurrence of crack, etc. of products, wherein a by-pass valve is opened and press pressure is reduced immediately after the press pressure of a plunger is detected, the plunger is lowered to the given final position, and excess press pressures is produced.
      CONSTITUTION: In a device wherein the plunger 3 is lowered by the hydraulic cylinder 10 and a glass lump fed to the bottom mold 1 is press molded, the hydraulic piping 12 is provided with the pressure gauge 13 to detect press pressure of the plunger 3 and the by-pass valve 24 to reduce press pressure by a detected signal when the plunger 3 is lowered to the final position to produce excess pressure. Consequently, given glass products free from defects such as protruded pieces like fins are constantly prepared without being influenced by variability of weight of glass lump, difference of space of molds, etc.
