    • PURPOSE:To easily produce composite metallic powder in which dispersion particles are uniformly distributed by charging the granular or short fiber-like dispersion particles having the m.p. higher than the m.p. of a molten metal to the molten metal and splitting and spraying the melt mixture composed thereof to liquid drops by centrifugal force. CONSTITUTION:A rotary electrode 3 made of an Ni alloy, etc., is erected on an electrode mounting base 8 which is horizontally rotated by a high-speed revolving motor 4 to constitute a centrifugal sprayer consisting of a rotary electrode device. Said electrode is rotated at a speed of about 16,000 revolutions/ min and an arc 1 is irradiated from above the rotary electrode 3 to form a molten metal pool 2 at the top end thereof. The dispersion particles 6 in the granular or short fiber-like state having the high m.p. are thrown to the molten metal just prior to splitting to the liquid drops in the molten metal pool 2 from a nozzle 5 disposed in the upper diagonal position. Such melt mixture is split by the centrifugal force. The composite metallic powder in which the above- mentioned dispersion particles are uniformly distributed is thus easily and quickly formed at a low cost.

    • PURPOSE: To manufacture a sliding material with superior lubricity and wear resistance by blending a specified percentage each of carbon powder, powder having an effect of inhibiting the diffusion of carbon, and Fe powder, uniformly coating the surface of the carbon powder with the powder having the inhibiting effect, and carrying out molding and sintering.
CONSTITUTION: A composition consisting of 1W4wt% carbon powder having 20W 350μm average particle size, 0.2W4wt% of one or ≥2 kinds of powders having 1W15μm average particle size and an effect of inhibiting the diffusion of carbon selected from Si powder, Sn powder, P powder and alloy powder contg. ≥15wt% Si, Sn and P, and the balance Fe powder and/or Fe alloy powder having 40W 150μm average particle size is prepared, and the composition is mixed to uniformly coat the surface of the carbon powder with the powder having the inhibiting effect. Press molding and sintering are then carried out by an ordinary powder metallurgical method.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the effective mold for molding glass at low cost, by filling the powder of raw material of the prescribed composition in a metal capsule of desired shape, after that, evacuating, then press molding under hot hydrostatic pressure and sintering the above powder of raw material. CONSTITUTION:The metal capsule 6 having the shape of inner surface approximating to the shape of outer surface of the final mold (e.g. the mold 1 for molding the panel for Braun tube of television), is made of mild steel sheet. Through the slender pipe 5 of this capsule 6, for example, the powder of the alloy of Ni base is filled and, after having evacuated through the slender pipe 5, the slender pipe 5 is sealed. This capsule 6 is molded by press-working under hot hydrostatic pressure and then is sintered. Then, by removing the mild steel capsule of outer shell by pickling and by finish working the mold, the mold 1 having a very high precision of dimensions is obtained. This mold 1 has a fine crystal grain size which does not generate the printed pattern on the surface of glass. Besides, in this mold, the inclusions at the grain boundary are very little, so that the surface of the glass product is not contaminated.
