    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device and a driving method for the same, capable of preventing degradation of the device, using a protecting image and reducing the consumption of electric power in a screen protection mode. SOLUTION: The light emitting device includes a plurality of data lines DL1 to DLm, a plurality of scan lines SL1 to SLn, a plurality of pixels 101, a controller 140, a data driving circuit 130 and a scan drive circuit 120. The data lines are disposed in a first direction. The scan lines are disposed in a second direction, that is different from the first direction. The pixels 101 are formed by the data lines and the scan lines. The controller 140 transmits a plurality of first display data. The data drive circuit 130 provides data current, corresponding to the first display data transmitted from the controller 140 to the data lines. The scan drive circuit 120 drives the scan lines by a unit of two or more lines under the control of the controller 140, when the first display data are repeatedly transmitted to the data drive circuit 130.
